I'm not easy on my car either--it regularly tows HEAVY trailers (and my '74 beetle) and sees high-RPMs every day.
I began using this oil as soon as it was certified for use with the PD engines (505.01), about 4 years ago.
It's pricey, and there's much cheaper alternatives, but you just can't beat a full-synthetic Group V base synthetic, which is in a class of it's own without competition (Sorry, Group IV AMSOil)
Highly recommended to keep your TDI (< 2005) alive. Just DON'T use it in any 2009+ Clean diesel TDI, as the oil additives will slowly destroy your DPF.

I have a older 2003 VW Beetle diesel (TDI) that is really nice. 50+ MPG. this oil is all I use in this vehicle. I have a BMW 328i that I have tried other synthetic oils like Mobile 1 but the Red Line seems to make my vehicles much happier and run better. These products offer the highest quality available on the market today and in the widest variety of viscosity.Great Deal and fast shipping when ordered from Amazon. I never have to go to the auto parts store and find that they don't have the viscosity or number of quarts I want. It is great to come home from work and find the oil by my front door.
