Mann filters were recommended by a mechanic years ago. Change frequently. Keep oil clean. I use Mann oil filters on present Volvos 1998 S90 and 2003 V70. exactly the same brand and design that volvo sells with their cars. Put the filter in the carter, then change the included o'ring and put the plastic cover again. Pretty similar to BMW oil filter system.

This is a good oil filter for the Volvo s60 series. I believe it may also fit any of the Volvo 5 Cyl Volvo's. The Mann filter is a good as the Volvo filter and about 1/2 the price. It is supplied with an oil seal for the filter case.
