Growing up my dad always told me that Fram were the only oil filters he ever used, so ever since I was 16, that's all I used when I changed my oil in my car. Being a college student now and doing research about oil and oil filters on my own, I found that putting Fram filters in was once the best you can buy, but now they're one of the worst brands and worst quality filters you can put in your car. Do you're self a favor, spend a little more money, only $3 more on amazon, and buy Purolator PureONE filters, they are high quality and will clean your oil and keep your engine running longer. After doing lots of research, these are one of the best you can buy and amazon has them for an amazing price!

If you are buying these then you recognize that they are premium oil filter with quality construction and that this is an excellent price shipped from Amazon.

If you are not familiar with this product let me simply say that the PureOne is a high quality oil filter available from Amazon at less then 1/2 of what the local stores charge.

If you wish to buy a cheap oil filter buy this instead it will save you money in the long run.

I've been using this number filter (PL30001) on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler for almost a year. If you look it up on Amazon it says it will not fit, but the thread pattern and base of the filter are exactly the same as the filter that is supposed to go on (can't remember the number at the moment). I haven't noticed any difference, but there is no difference in price for the two. I figure the bigger filter gives allows for a cleaner engine by holding in more gunk than the smaller one.

All in all, a great filter I'd recommend to anyone.

Filter was in the past, a marigold color with a anti slip coating. [As shown in the discriptions] Made filter a lot easier for us home mechanics to change filter with a little oil on the hands. The two I just received were painted with a slippery, blue paint. I don't know if this is old inventory or if purolator has changed a great feature to an old fashion paint job. It has nothing to do with quality, but I sure liked the easy grip when changing oil on my limited access area of removing and reinstalling the filter on my Chrysler.

The Purolator PureONE is one of the best filters on the market. The quality of construction is high, the filter is coated with a grippy paint and pre-lubed seal which makes installing it by hand a snap, and it has a synthetic element that is 99.9% efficient. I've heard some people claiming that the regular Purolator is the same filter without the sand finish paint, NOT TRUE. The standard filters (white canister) are also very good, but they do not have the synthetic element.
