I did a lot of research on-line trying to find the best oil filter for my "97" Grand Cherokee 5.2L. This filter came out on top and Amazon had the best price and customer service. I gave it only 4 stars because I feel that the mfg. could have added a non slip coating like other mfg. do to aid in the installation. What I did to offset this issue was to slip two rubber bands over the filter and this worked just fine. With that issue resolved I feel that the filter will work just fine. I will buy more when time comes. Harold

I own a 2002 Chrysler 300m, and had been using the gold Purolator filter for the last few oil changes. The car at the same time developed a light but noticeable tick in the valvetrain. Had read somewhere that the gold filter is restrictive. Ordered a Bosch Premium to replace it with to see if that would help.. Only to learn that the Purolator gold and Bosch Premium are very similar. Bought this filter instead and, having them both sitting there, I decided to do an impromptu test: I put my lips on the middle part of the filter and tried to breathe in, the idea being if it is easier to breathe in, the less restrictive the filter is. Well.. The Mobil 1 beats the Bosch hands down! I could breathe through that thing all day comfortably, whereas the Bosch was becoming difficult to breathe through after a 3-4 breaths. Also, reversing the flow and trying to blow through the filter to test the anti-drainback valve resulted in zero air getting through for the Mobil 1 and a small but steady amount for the Bosch. The Mobil 1 is clearly higher quality. So, I installed the Mobil 1 filter on the car and topped off the oil-Zero valvetrain noise. The engine is quiet and smooth as can be. Definitely recommended!!
