As of December 2008, Brad Penn oils were still being manufactured to the old API-SF and ILSAC GF-2 standards with a full .140% Zinc and .130% phosphorous needed by older engines with flat (non-roller) tappets, such as MG, Porsche, Maserati, Ferarri, and most small and big block GM and Fords. These are a great low-cost alternatives to aftermarket synthetic oils being marketed for flat tappet engines (e.g. Royal Purple). Not for use in late model cars with 100,000 mile warranties on the converter, but necessary to avoid early cam/lifter failures on flat tappet cars. Hoorah for Brad Penn.

Brad Penn oil has the anti ware additives suited to air/oil cooled classic Porsche engines. Most classic Porsche owners do their home work and research the products used in their well cared for cars. After much study my choose is Brad Penn motor oil for my 1979 SC Porsche.
