This oil was a good deal when I purchased it at around $20. However, at the current price of $50.07 it is WAY too much! You can get a gallon of diesel oil at Walmart for under $13/gallon. If the price stayed around $3/qt it would be a pretty good deal.
Nothing wrong with the oil though, received in good condition. Ended up using it in an '02 Mitsubishi Lancer oil burner and a '70 F100 360. No issues, oil gets the job done.

Reviews of K&N KN-204 Motorcycle/Powersports High Performance Oil Filter

I like all K&N parts that I've used. Just be careful when using the Amazon application chart. Their chart said I need this KN-204 for my Ducati 750SS. Later research using the K&N website showed this would not fit ANY model Ducati and specified the KN-153. Just check the K&N website before you pick the model number of the filter you need.
This was only a minor inconvenience and loss of a bit of time. Amazon was excellent with the return and prompt on the refund. Didn't cost me a penny and they arranged everything. This is also the only time I've ever had to make a return out of the many purchases I've made with Amazon. That's hard to beat!
Later that day, as I was checking out and paying the bill, the dealership owner made a snide remark about my using a second rate K&N filter and implied that it could result in denial of a warranty claim if I had engine problems.
Well after I got home and thought about it I wrote Mr. Dealer a concise e-mail to let him know that his comment disturbed me so much that unless he provides me a written affirmation that using a K&N oil filter CANNOT and WILL NOT affect any potential future warranty claims that I will CANCEL my 48-month Yamaha Extended Service plan and get a refund. I have 30 days to do that and receive a full refund (minus a small admin fee). I am anxiously awaiting Mr. Dealer's response.
But regardless of what the dealer says to convince me otherwise, I intend to cancel the Y.E.S. plan before my 30 day period ends. Why wait until 3 or 4 years down the road to find out the $700 Yamaha Extended Service Plan is WORTHLESS? By that time I could only be refunded a small fraction of the original contract purchase price.
Anyhow, I am still angry and disturbed and plan to tell my story to K&N directly. I'm sure K&N also will be angry and disturbed about this dealership implication.
I change my own oil and started buying K&N for the 1" welded nut and that reason alone. It makes filter changes immensely easier, for me. No more filter wrenches or pounding a screw driver through the filter to muscle it off.
The extra money paid is worth it for me.

As with everything else that K&N does, these oil filters are great. You'll love the integral nut, on the back end, for removal when you next need to change it. A little bit more expensive than what you can get at Walmart or some auto parts stores, but well worth it. Think about what your time is worth, and the mess you save in not needing to wrestle with an oil filter that doesn't want to come off.Best Deals for K&N KN-204 Motorcycle/Powersports High Performance Oil Filter
These K&N oil filters are high quality filters with the benefit of the nut on the bottom. On some vehicles with limited room around the oil filter, the nut on the bottom is priceless.Honest reviews on K&N KN-204 Motorcycle/Powersports High Performance Oil Filter
Yesterday I took my brand new V Star 950 Tourer in for first service at 600 miles. I supplied my own K&N oil filter (which I purchased from Amazon.com) for the oil/filter change. The service manager said Ok they would use it. In fact, he informed me that they sold the same K&N filters right there at the dealership.Later that day, as I was checking out and paying the bill, the dealership owner made a snide remark about my using a second rate K&N filter and implied that it could result in denial of a warranty claim if I had engine problems.

I've read a few studies based on the performance of K&N oil filters, but I'm not an expert on engine performance or engine life, so I cannot proclaim that by using these oil filters you'll have a perfect engine. I can tell you that I put 135,000 miles a Dodge Cummins 2500; 1,500 miles on a Yamaha Grizzly ATV; 50,000 miles on a Ford F-150; and 115,000 miles on a Chevy Tahoe using these filters and have had no filter related problems.I change my own oil and started buying K&N for the 1" welded nut and that reason alone. Good price and fast free shipping from Amazon. This is the best oil to use in snowblowers and generators for winter use. Start smoother and run better than with conventional oil. A note about a previous review, the Briggs abd Stratton 5-W30 snowblower oil is NOT synthetic. This is better oil for your snowblower.

In summer 2011 I purchased a 10kW Troy-Bilt power generator. This required an oil change after the first 5 hours of use. Based on the instructions, for Pacific Nortwest weather, this SAE 5W-30 Synthetic oil was a perfect fit. I ordered from Amazon, and it was promptly delivered. I changed the oil, and so far it has been doing its duty flawlessly. I had no problems with the power generator at all. I am pleased with the purchase.Honest reviews on Briggs & Stratton SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Small Engine Motor Oil - 32
I but a used briggs lawn mower and the engine was barely running. I did a tune up with this oil and it sounds much better and seems to also run better. I then used it on a Briggs motor that wouldn't start and it really made the engine come alive. Worth the price.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Briggs & Stratton SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Small Engine Motor Oil - 32
