Other than coming in a bottle that is an exact factory-fill for B&S walk-behind engines, this is just a SAE 30HD oil. Yes, it'll work. But it isn't any different from any other SAE 30HD oil that you can get at any auto parts store, the discount store of your choice, wherever, for less money for an entire quart.

(NOTE: For engines that do not need to operate in cold weather, be sure to use a "straight" 30-weight oil. Do not substitute a multi-viscosity oil like 5W30. The viscosity modifiers in multi-weight oil do not necessarily hold up well to the high-temperature environment of an air-cooled mower engine. This can cause the oil to be lower in viscosity than intended by the time you change it.)

It's just 30W oil, with a B&S label on it. They don't make their own oil. 30W is 30W. I've never used it, and have never had a B&S engine break down. You're paying almost $10 a quart for oil? Ridiculous.

I made a mistake I looked at the picture and thought it was a quart. The price would still be high if was a quart. I bought 2 thinking that was what I need for my mower motor. I was wrong. I went to tractor supply and purchased a gallon for about the same price.

This oil is great for making things slippery. Use it on floors, walls, or even slip-n-slides. If something isn't slipping, and it needs to be, pour a quart or two of this on, and it will be.

This oil change pump with waste container is more expensive than the fifty dollar units but it has its own storage container and a pump with a heavy duty motor that actually works and it much quieter than the cheaper ones. In addition to boats, this pump is great for draining automatic transmissions that don't have a drain plug in the pan. (ever make a huge mess trying to change your tranny fluid? I thought so...) I also use it for other small engines and power equipment that have awkward or impossible drain locations. (like a snow blower or lawn tractor)

I use a portable booster pack to power it when draining equipment that doesn't have its own battery.

I bought this for sucking oil from differentials, automatic transmissions, small engines and boats. This is a diaphram pump, which is the best type to have for sucking out fluids. You don't have to worry about burning the pump up by running it when dry and it never needs to be primed. The bucket is designed to stay closed, by that I mean that the lid stays on. The lid has a pull up spout for pooring the oil out of the bucket. The pump is well made. The bucket is average. If you are going to buy this to suck oil from your car's engine it may not be possible. Some car engines have a dip stick tube that lines up the dipstick in a certain orientation. If you can't rotate your dipstick when it is down in the tube or it always turns firmly a certain way when put in. Those tubes won't allow the plastic suction tube to pass into the crankcase.

I purchased this to change the oil in my boat. Most people said it was about a 5 minute process, but it was closer to 20 to extract the oil from my boat. I am sure it varies depending on the oil pan size. Mine is approximately 8 quarts. Very cool, no mess, easy assembly. If you are looking to change boat oil, this is your item. I was impressed.

I used this oil changer on 2 Volvo Penta engines in the same Monterey boat without any problems. Oil withdrawal was very fast and the oil removal line was long enough to get to the bottom of the oil pan. I was very pleased with this unit/purchase.

I've been looking for something like this for a while now. I needed it for my boat, small engines and truck. Although people may complain it is a little slow, once the oil is heated a little bit, it gets the job done. No complaints.
