The reduction in Zddp for most motor oils has proven disastrous to many older vehicles. While this was done to protect newer catalytic converters, it is very bad for camshafts.
Redline is one of the few manufacturers which still maintains high levels of zddp. But they also use the very best baseline synthetic stock available.
I use this in all my older cars up through the mid nineties. The cost of an engine rebuild is far higher than the few bucks extra for oil. However, for the late model daily drivers, I simply use Mobil 1.
