I'd always thought an oil filter's an oil filter until I read Bob's the oil guy's reviews. From there it seems that these Purolator are better than Fram and cheaper too.

For a basic $4 filter this one is leaps ahead of the Fram Exta Guard. For better media and a silicon ADBV go with their Pure One filters.

I have been using this for the last 3 or 4 oil changes on my '97 Toyota Camry V6 for oil + oil filter changes. These guys fit very well on the Camry and also easy to remove during oil filter exchanges. I can't speak to the quality of how well the oil is filtered, because I don't have a scientific lab at my disposal to perform the necessary oil analysis. But, I can say that the engine has worked fine with this filter. These guys are cheap and affordable; I'm sure there are higher quality and more expensive filters out there... but this one does the job well for me.

I've always preferred the FRAM product over others such as STP given the easy grip surface on the end of the filter. Easy on, easy off. I'll always buy FRAM.

This is an OEM (original equipment manufacture) oil filter for my 1999 Mercedes SLK. I have been using them for the past 3-4 years and the always look good when I pull them out each year running Mobil 1 oil.

I used one of these to replace an OEM filter and it was NOT the same thing. The OEM piece was more rigid and actually looked of a higher quality. That being said, I've been using Mann filters in my other car for years and they seem to do a fine job. They are a lot cheaper than going to the dealer and getting one there. I'd recommend them, just thought people should be aware that at least on my car, it was not an exact match of the OEM filter.

I've used this filter now for 2 oil changes on my 93 300E mercedes. Seems to hold up well and doesnt get crushed or fall apart. You will need a special oil filter cap removal tool found online for $50. This filter "snaps" onto the bottom of the filter cap.
