I've done my research and these hard-to-find filters are the only ones made with no paper media or cardboard supports. The all metal / synthetic media construction keeps fibers from coming loose and floating around in the engine oil, which is exactly what a filter is supposed to prevent.

Ordered these for a very fair price, and got them extremely fast (I love Amazon Prime.)

Don't know why these were only $5 each. I'm not going to complain! This is what I normally use, so I bought a few for both vehicles. If I'd been thinking, I would have bought some for the other vehicles I own too!!

I like the texture of these filters. Makes them easy to handle when I get a little oil on my hands. They also scored well in filter tests I read a while back.

At $5 each, they are priced very close to many of the entry level filters, but have better filtering results.

I always use this filter for my car at every oil change, and when i pull the drain its good oil, and when you crush the old filter you can see everything this filter protects your engine from, right now im using valvoline max life syn blend...thinking of going full synthetic, either mobil or valvoline. Either way Im never using a different brand of oil filter

Standard Purolator filters are about as good as Fram, but PureONE filters are top of the line from the research I've done. It is clear these filters have more pleats in them, and the textured grip is a really nice feature. I haven't done any sort of scientific analysis, but just looking at this filter and a cheap one (even though this is offered for a GREAT price on Amazon), it is easy for a layman to see this is a quality product.

Purolator filters are the best. They are very effective at filtering. But they also pay attention to little details. For example, the gasket is held in place by a slight crimp in the rim. This keeps the gasket in place. Does not sound like much but if you have ever changed a filter and the gasket stays on the engine and you do not detect it. You will have a big surprise when you start the car (oil will spray everywhere). This happened to me with a Fram filter and I went back to Purolator. I won't use anything else

I put Marvel into everything. Into the car's motor oil, fuel tank, lawn equipment (two and four stroke) and it doesn't let me down. I recently pulled the valve cover off one of my cars, after 100k miles clean as the day they assembled it. If you start out with Marvel and use it like you should, you don't need fuel injector cleaner and you won't have sludge build up in your motor nor plugged up fuel injectors. Putting it in your gas also acts as a upper cylinder lubricant to help lubricate those places motor oil can't get to.

I grew up with Marvel, my father used it religiously in his '55 Ford. The motor was rebuilt in 1968 (when he got the truck) and it still drives like a clock to this day. Granted, somewhere around 1997 it had to have a valve job done, but that was because it didn't have hardened valve seats and so eliminating lead gas cause that issue. Just like my car, when the cylinder heads were taken off, that motor was as clean as the day it was assembled, not a spot of sludge GO MARVEL!

This stuff works better then most of the fuel system cleaners on the market today. It will also work as an oil system cleaner, assembly lube, and general maintenance lubricant. Marvel's mystery oil also makes an air tool oil which works equally as well. This is an old tried & true product. Very good buy!

I've been use MMO for quite a few years and am a firm believer in it. While we don't have enough time for me to write (and for you to read) all the stories I could tell about MMO, I will say that it has saved me a bundle on PMs.

What sold me on MMO was when I was in my teens my boss had an old Craftsmen lawnmower that burned oil and would foul the plugs within about 5-6 hours of running. He added MMO to the gas and the plugs would NEVER foul so long as the MMO was in the gas (2oz to 5g of gas). I couldn't believe it was the MMO, so I ran a tank of gas with no MMO, and you guessed it, fouled plugs. After spending a 1/2 hour cleaning both plugs, I ran the next tank with MMO and no more fouling.

Recently my work truck started making a "pinging" noise from the engine while it was at idle. Sounded like a lifter, but I wasn't sure. I was about to take it to the shop when I decided to try some MMO in the fuel. I added 16oz to 25g of 93 octane gas and now the pinging is gone.

I also use MMO in my Lycoming O-320 (aviation engine) fuel which keeps the cylinders, plugs and valves bright and shiny. Also keeps the plugs from fouling from the heavily leaded 100LL avgas. My A&P mechanic swears by MMO, and after using it for over a decade, so do I.

It's not snake oil that for sure. I added 6 oz and filled up with 15 gallons and my Nissan Altima Hybrid's MPG jumped from 34 to 37. This occurred for the first 400 miles and at 573 for the tank, I'm at 36.6. I was averaging 34-35.5 on my computer. Not sure if the price was good, but for sure the car liked the product. Only 24k miles and I always ran fuel injector cleaners every 3k or so. This is the biggest difference I've seen. Not comment on power as I'm a hypermiler.

There's really not much else to say about this product. Go on Youtube, look at the cut open reviews, look at the build process, and look at these things with 10k miles on them. 3k miles after a RP and oil change in my 03' matrix with 230,xxx miles on it, oil looks like new.

I have used Royal Purple products for over ten years. All my cars use nothing but RP from headlights to tailights:

Engine oil.

Transmission & differential fluids.

Wheel bearings.

Radiator additive (Ice).

And this RP filter. Best filter I've ever put on a vehicle. Yep, a bit pricey but figure this; buy a cheapo filter and replace it every 3000 miles or pay a bit more and replace it every 10,000 miles. Add to this the QUALITY of filtering and to me there's no contest; Royal Purple wins. With RP filters I find no "micro-shards" of worn metal in the oil when it's time to change it. Even on a new car, this filter sdeems to catch all the really fine particles. I'll never use another brand.

Came back to add/edit: The first vehicle I ever did a "complete Royal Purple make-over" was my 2000 GMC Sonoma truck. Before the fluid/lube changes I was getting 22 to 24 mpg. After changing it all out I immediately went to 26/27 mpg. This stuff just makes everything run smoother, and smoother means better mileage. Again, I'll never use another brand.

Ducati's have an oddball oil filter, and you either need a special plastic ratchet attachment, a strap wrench or a wrench like this. I figured this would stand the test of time and be useful for any size filter. Channellock makes a good tool, and if you are careful (and remember which way to loosen an upside-down screw) you won't damage the metal or plastic filter body. You are applying teeth and 3 points of pressure to a thin-walled filter, so you do need to be careful. Since it's flat, I don't mind leaving it in my metric toolbox.

I've been changing the oils in all my cars, trucks, tractors, and lots more for...for over 40 years. I own about 15 different devices to remove cartridge filters, from flexible bands and chain, to lever loop, to large socket styles. I also own several pairs of very large (18") adjustable pliers. As anyone who changes alot of filters knows, one has to have the proper tool to access and grab a filter...without crushing it. I've always wondered about tools like these Channellock pliers, but never felt the need to own one....until recently, when a tractor filter got the better of me. I purchased these 212 pliers, and they did rescue the tractor filter and lots more! I've found myself using these pliers for many filter applications. Applications that in the past could have been accomplished with one of my other tools, but were performed FAR MORE EASILY with these pliers. I'm sold! These pliers simply allow excellent access, good leverage, and excellent grip without crushing. As per usual Channellock quality, the tool itself has good heft and appears well made. I'm buying three more for oil changing friends and relatives.

First of all, I love Channellock. All of their products are top-notch and made in the USA.

Over the years I have cursed out a large number of oil filter wrenches to no avail, they all continue to suck after I let them know what I think of them. Too many split knuckles from grease monkey's heavy handed efforts in installing an oil filter. (I take my vehicles in for winter oil changes. Don't judge, would you like to be under a car outside in January? In North Dakota? Ugh.)

This here wrench is the answer. It bites on like a rabid beaver and will take whatever torque you can dish out. Filters don't stand a chance. I imagine it fits most common oil filters, other than large heavy equipment or little lawn mower sizes.

Quality wise, it's another Channellock product, meaning top quality. My grandson will quite possibly be using this wrench. And that's saying something as my son is yet but a sparkle in my eye.

My collection of tongue-lashed oil filter wrenches, both strap and basket, are destined for the scrap metal pile.

It's a great tool for stuck on things. I struggled with an oil filter on a Chrysler van, and this thing did it's job with grabbing on it with it's teeth.
