VR1 Racing Motor Oil has higher ZDDP in it for older flat tappet engines that use the ZDDP to protect the lifters and cam lobes. I use this product in my 1962 Corvair Monza Coupe engine with a Isky 270 performance camshaft.

Lucas is first known for their oil additive products, but they also make this full synthetic.

After I broke in my new car I switched to this stuff at 30,000, and have been running it til now at 130,000.

Performance hasn't seemed to change, but soon I'll have a dyno to prove that.

This package was a great value, but since I purchased it, it has gone up by $15 as carried by Amazon.

You may be better served buying direct if this price doesn't drop...

Used in my 4Runner rear differential & transfer case. Jury's still out but I feel confident on the product. I replaced Amsoil Severe Gear with this one. Didn't come with the screw on nozzle like others do so I had to pump the fluid. I bought this for my transmission too. Well, after calling Redline they informed me that GL4 was correct to use. Although my owner's manual says okay to use GL4 or GL5. GL4 is the way to go. Much smoother, shifts fast. The previous oil was GL5 Amsoil. Purchase MT90 for your manual transmission, if in doubt. Call Redline customer service.

If you are looking to put this fluid in your car, I would recommend contacting Red Line directly to make sure you are using the right product for your application...before you purchase it. Read the label on the bottle to make sure it is used in the proper manner. It is a great product!

The product does help with allowing the car to shift cleaner.

This is excellent for rear differentials, if you want Red Line for your transmission use Red Line 50304 Manual Transmission (MT) 90W Gear Oil 1 Quart I had GL5 in my Toyota Pickup transmission, it worked OK, but the MT 90 allows for smoother shifting.

Amazon has a better price with the free shipping than an online racing mail order place. I ordered 6 of the MT90 and 4 of this gear oil, they were individually in plastic ziplock bags and all arrived in perfect condition.

At first, I didn't really notice any difference in my shifts. However, after about 500 miles, the shifting is noticeably easier and smoother than it was prior to the change. I'm glad I waited to post the review, because it took a few miles to really shine in my old 4x4. I would definitely recommend this stuff if you're looking for smoother shifting in your manual tranny.

I've got a lot of cars most of them with turbos and it's incredibly helpful to not have to buy different types of oil for each of them. Motul's 8100 X-cess is one of the highest quality synthetic oils you can buy, satisfying many stringent VW/Audi and Mercedes Benz specifications for durability and extended changes including many diesel specs. I bought it specifically for my Audi turbo, but I use it in pretty much everything I own save my old GM 6.5l diesel, which gets Motul's 6100 semi-synthetic. I buy both the 8100 and 6100 from Amazon since their prices are as good as anywhere, and at the end of the day I get oils that are at least as good (and probably better) than more commonly available Mobil 1, etc. at a modest but not unappreciated savings.

I drive my wrx in the city and also do some auto x and track days. This stuff doesn't appear to burn off between oil changes and is great for use all year around. I heard rotella T6 is cheaper and works as well but I'm an oil snob.

This is the best oil I've ever used. I'm running it in my 20 year old Mercedes Turbo Diesel after trying several other oils. With every other oil I've used (Mobil 1, Rotella T-6, Pentosin, etc.) in the car in the past year and a half I have had a sticky lifter that would become vocal every now and then at idle. Since switching to the Motul I have not heard a peep. Plus, the engine is quieter in general. Many people say it's a waste to use this oil on an old Mercedes and that there's no benefit, but I can assure you that this oil just might be magical. Really.

If you are looking at this oil, you likely own a Volksagen, Audi, Mercedes, or BMW. German auto manufacturers are particular about their oils and Motul is certified by all of them. Unlike American "Synthetic" oils, this is 100% synthetic and not a blend. Which means better consistency and lubrication for your engine. This was my first oil change in my recently acquired New Beetle 1.8 turbo and it has certainly brought a little extra to my bug over the previous conventional 10w-30.

The price is worth it and it can safely extend your oil change intervals to 5000, and in some cases, 7500 miles.

I run it in my 996 since it's not only Porsche recommended, but recommended by LN Engineering due to Motul not lowering their ZDDP levels. The top opens up with a funnel, which is great. The only reason the oil doesn't have a fifth star is the $15 increased price compared to Mobil 1, likely due to a lack of American distribution. Still, oil changes only happen every 5,000 miles, so if I could give 4 1/2 stars, I would.

I have an older truck with over 250,000 miles on the original motor. As with any old motor it starts making noises with age, (kinda like people lol). I had tried several different conventional oils and nothing quieted the noise. I didn't want to take on the expense of a full synthetic, so I decided to try this, and it did the trick. I don't hear any unusual engine noise now!! I used to only buy Quaker State and Castrol but I'm now a Valvoline man!! I also use a can of Restore RES60019 Engine Restorer 8 Cylinder. 19 oz. at every oil change, regardless as to whether it's conventional oil or not. That stuff compliments the oil and really does work, it comes in 4-6-and 8 cylinder formulas. I'll have that covered in a review for that product. Overall This Valvoline Durablend is great stuff.

I've been using Durablend in my Ford 351 engine for 18 years. Back when, it was about twice as much as regular oil, but still alot cheaper than full synthetic. I would change my oil every 3,000 miles and even at that interval the color of the oil was just turning brownish-black. Probably could have waited longer, but being a volunteer firefighter, the truck idles alot in the winter time at accident scenes. Times are changing and synthetics are coming down in price making it harder for me to find Durablend. Thank goodness Amazon still offers it and at a price that still makes it worth it.

This fit as expected and looks good, the greater benefit will be when I change it. The 17 mm lug on the end will make removal of the old filter easier that removing a convential filter. K&N is a great product and I use these products when ever I can to make sure my bike runs at top performance.

Used this on my Kawasaki Vulcan 800. Works great, K&N brand... nothing needs to be said about that. Looks great on the front of the bike, way better than a standard filter. Plus it has a nut on the end, making it easy to install/remove. Make sure not to squeeze out your o-ring though!

Ducati's have an oddball oil filter, and you either need a special plastic ratchet attachment, a strap wrench or a wrench like this. I figured this would stand the test of time and be useful for any size filter. Channellock makes a good tool, and if you are careful (and remember which way to loosen an upside-down screw) you won't damage the metal or plastic filter body. You are applying teeth and 3 points of pressure to a thin-walled filter, so you do need to be careful. Since it's flat, I don't mind leaving it in my metric toolbox.

I've been changing the oils in all my cars, trucks, tractors, and lots more for...for over 40 years. I own about 15 different devices to remove cartridge filters, from flexible bands and chain, to lever loop, to large socket styles. I also own several pairs of very large (18") adjustable pliers. As anyone who changes alot of filters knows, one has to have the proper tool to access and grab a filter...without crushing it. I've always wondered about tools like these Channellock pliers, but never felt the need to own one....until recently, when a tractor filter got the better of me. I purchased these 212 pliers, and they did rescue the tractor filter and lots more! I've found myself using these pliers for many filter applications. Applications that in the past could have been accomplished with one of my other tools, but were performed FAR MORE EASILY with these pliers. I'm sold! These pliers simply allow excellent access, good leverage, and excellent grip without crushing. As per usual Channellock quality, the tool itself has good heft and appears well made. I'm buying three more for oil changing friends and relatives.

First of all, I love Channellock. All of their products are top-notch and made in the USA.

Over the years I have cursed out a large number of oil filter wrenches to no avail, they all continue to suck after I let them know what I think of them. Too many split knuckles from grease monkey's heavy handed efforts in installing an oil filter. (I take my vehicles in for winter oil changes. Don't judge, would you like to be under a car outside in January? In North Dakota? Ugh.)

This here wrench is the answer. It bites on like a rabid beaver and will take whatever torque you can dish out. Filters don't stand a chance. I imagine it fits most common oil filters, other than large heavy equipment or little lawn mower sizes.

Quality wise, it's another Channellock product, meaning top quality. My grandson will quite possibly be using this wrench. And that's saying something as my son is yet but a sparkle in my eye.

My collection of tongue-lashed oil filter wrenches, both strap and basket, are destined for the scrap metal pile.
