I purchased Valvoline VV171 Premium Conventional SAE 50W Motor Oil

for my restored 1965 John Deere 3020 Diesel Tractor,

I had been using John Deere brand 15-40 Diesel Motor Oil since the engine overhaul,

it puffed blue smoke for the first 15 minutes after start-up,

since this tractor only runs is shows I change the oil and filter after every show,

the tractor no longer puffs any blue smoke and the engine runs much smoother and is nice and quiet.

I have been riding for 38 years. I know bikes and I've tried all the oils. Mobile 1 V-Twin 20w-50 makes my 2008 Softail Custom run smoother, quieter, and 15 degrees cooler than the Harley oil that came in the bike new. I change it every 5000 miles and it looks nearly as clean coming out as it did going in. It doesn't blacken or break down in the 100+ degree Texas heat with me riding it like I stole it! It's worth every penny and then some!!!

Learned about this V-Twin Oil at the '08 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Toured the Mobil display Semi-trailer and got all the scoup and Mobil's sale pitch. I must admit I was somewhat skeptical until I returned home and talked to the Harley dealer. You guessed it... They recommended to only use Harley oil, until I visited a non-Harley motorcycle shop that sells Amsol. .I use Mobil for many other applications on the farm in Nebraska and have found it to be a superior oil. Can't save money on cheap oil. That's my theory. Believe it or not, I think my bike runs cooler on this oil. Call me a dreamer, I'm convinced and impressed.

This is the only oil I will use, it is great for the hot desert riding I do and it lasts much longer than conventional oils.

These are terrific filters stay away from cheap-o's like fram (use YouTube to see comparisons). These sell for a little over $4 at my local walmart but over $8 here at Amazon.

This filter has shrunk dramatically. At least a third of length is gone. Purolator makes these for Motorcraft.

Just know that you are not buying the same FL-400s that was on the market in the past. Its also smaller that the image shown here on Amazon. Not sure why they needed to mess with something that was great. Bob the Oil Guy forum has a thread on this and someone there contacted Purolator an got a response that was less than straight forward. May still be a good filter, but don't look to it to match the oil capacity of the old and trusted FL-400s

I have been buying this filter for my 99 escort sedan and my 01 escort sedans. Snug fit, a bit different design than the fram 3600, but I feel more comfortable with this on my vehicle being a ford part. no leak problems, sometimes a tighter seal and harder to get off than a fram, but hey, its the ford part, might as well use it. About the same price as a fram if not cheeper as well.

This is the updated version with tougher temp rubber protection in the valve, it does the job and I can't think of a better product for the money.
