Was looking for something to get the oil filter housing off the g/f's Jetta (2010 I think). The last person that put it on put it on REALLY tight. Even with this I had to strain on it a little to get it loose.

Good quality, much sturdier than the flimsy stamped steel one's that can flex and slip.

Doesn't cost much more than the cheap stamped one either definitely worth it if you're doing your own oil changes!!

Works well on Porsche Boxster filter housing too, at about a third the price of the Porsche-specific filter socket offered by the same maker...which I also own, but somehow have managed to misplace. I agree, that was a dumb move, but at least it gave me a perfect opportunity to provide this comparative review.

Well built, good fit. Sticks slightly once fully torqued, but more than acceptable. Would consider buying other products from the brand again.

I've been using Super Lube for years, and it's great for clean, permanent lubrication, so I avoid everything else.

But although this product is titled "grease", it's clearly an oil, and that means it'll migrate much farther and provide a much thinner lubricating film.

I used this stuff for years, Radio Shack (!) stocked it under their own brand but then it vanished from their shelves. I hoarded my last tube, missed it when it was done, great having it back. I've resurrected electric motors (fans, etc.) from the grave ... kept my furnace inducer-blower running for three extra years!

I'm sure it will work for what I need it for. I'm also sure the oil is high quality. However, the tip isn't metal, but plastic. Not that it matters in the long run, but keep that in mind if you're ordering this product. The plastic tip has a larger diameter than what a metal one would have.

The KN-303 filter is what is used on my 2005 Yamaha R1. The filter has a 17mm lug on the top, which makes installation really easy. There is limited space between the filter and the headers, so being able to use an end wrench to install it is very nice. This saves having to have a special filter wrench for the OEM style filters. It also has a little hole where you can safety wire it for when you go to the track. Very nice filter.

The product from K&N is excellent. It has beaten most of the filters that compete against it in head to head studies. The KN303 is made for the GL1500, 1988 to 2000, but what many rides of newer GL1800's may not realize, it fits their bikes also. The K&N designed for the GL1800, KN204 is shorter and has less filter area. The KN303 is a perfect fit for those wanting to have a little more filter area and still having excellent filtering properties.

I ordered these for my 2005 Yamaha SX230HO instead of using Yamaha OEM filters. I like these better since they have the 17mm fitting at the bottom which makes removing a piece of cake with a socket instead of a oil wrench. I would think these are better filters too.

I use this exact filter on my 05 Honda Silver Wing. Honda recomends Torqing the filter. And the 17mm Nut makes it easy. Bought the bike used with about 2k miles. Rode 1500 miles and my oil is still clean. This is a Heavy filter for its size. Due to the steel case.

Excellent filter for 2009 Kawasaki ER6N. Fits great, love the price, easy installation, I used my hand to tighten it on and it has been fine so far: no leakage.
