I have a Dodge Charger 2007 srt8 which has been rebuild to a 392 HEMI (6.4 liiter) with an engine-oil cooled Supercharger. The mechanic-machinist expert who built my engine also build race car engines. He said to get this oil with this viscosity. I haven't used any other oil on this engine so the review is NOT to compare with another brand but the performance in my engine. I have been using this oil for 1 year now and even gone as far as 6000 miles before changing it. Great oil for high performance engines which get extremely hot, especially in AZ where I live.

I read a lot about oils to put in a Porsche 911 when I bought mine and

an Engineering firm (google it) picked this one out as well as others as a

good oil for these engines.

Mine runs just fine with it no smoke.....wouldn't expect that anyway, oil pressure

good 1.5-2 bar hot idle, 5 bar+ 3k RPM

Get a case of 12qt, car takes 11, change it with the engine hot otherwise

you miss the oil in the cooler in the front fender.

First of all it's motor oil, typically you think they're all the same. Not necessarily true. I spent a lot of time and money on my race engine and I intend to keep it running smooth. Great at low and high temperatures, even running high RPM's for an extended period of time in NC and Mojave summer heat my oil pressure stays right were it needs to be. For the price, a little less than 6$ a qt, it's actually more affordable then just going to the local parts store and picking up the store brand!

I have a 2002 Victory V92TC motorcycle. and I tried this brand as a replacement for the Victory oil I usually use. What a difference! The motor is quieter, it shifts effortlessly and I have no problem finding neutral. I will make this my main brand from now on and would recommend this product to other Victory owners and anyone who is looking for quality product.

Was looking for something to get the oil filter housing off the g/f's Jetta (2010 I think). The last person that put it on put it on REALLY tight. Even with this I had to strain on it a little to get it loose.

Good quality, much sturdier than the flimsy stamped steel one's that can flex and slip.

Doesn't cost much more than the cheap stamped one either definitely worth it if you're doing your own oil changes!!

Works well on Porsche Boxster filter housing too, at about a third the price of the Porsche-specific filter socket offered by the same maker...which I also own, but somehow have managed to misplace. I agree, that was a dumb move, but at least it gave me a perfect opportunity to provide this comparative review.

After I had the engine rebuilt in my 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, along with a larger turbo and a few other mods, I decided to switch over to Motul. I have been using Motul Oil in the trans and diffs with great results, but not the engine. I always thought it was too expensive, but this is a great deal and not much more than any other good synthetic oil. This is even a lot cheaper than the garbage I used before for 74k miles, and I think mostly the reason I needed my engine rebuilt. Hint, it starts with AMS and ends with OIL. The shop that did all the work on my car use and sell Motul, and even the Subaru WRC team uses it. I have never heard anything bad about this stuff and at this price it's hard to beat.

Turns out amazon had better pricing on the oil than some other places I've looked at and coupled with prime shipping it was a no brainer. I use this in my VW & Audi vehicles. Personal favorite oil.

Had a mechanic friend from Europe talk to me about this product. Actually had me feel and smell this product versus the other big synthetic oils widely available in the US. This stuff is noticeably slipperier and cleaner smelling. Most of the domestic brands have almost a burnt smell. The hardcore oil guys seem to think this stuff compares extremely well to most other stuff out there. What iced it for me was that go-kart racers were coming to him for this oil as it was allowing their engines to run cooler and at higher RPM. Not a ton, but enough to make a difference. This stuff is not cheap, but Amazon is better than most on price.

Discount Mobil 1 M1-104 Extended Performance Oil Filter

Comparing this M1 filter to two other filters for the same application (Purolator PureOne PL14459, and Bosch 3312) reveals the M1 filter to be of much stouter construction. Both the baseplate and canister wall of the M1 filter is thicker than the other two filters. The baseplate center hole (.41 square inch area oil exit hole) actually has an extra thread (4 threads for the M1 filter, compared to 3 threads for the other two filters) because of the thicker steel used.

The thicker baseplate of the M1 filter has only 5 oil entry holes (1 .3125" diameter hole and 4 .25" diameter holes) compared to 8 total oil entry oils on the other two filters (all 8 holes .2266" in diameter). This gives the M1 filter 0.27 square inches of oil entry area, 16% less than the 0.32 square inches for the other two filters. Whether this slightly less oil entry capacity for the M1 makes a difference in actual oil flow, I don't know. However the three less holes in the baseplate definitely gives the M1 an advantage in baseplate strength, with fewer holes weakening the structure of the baseplate.

Using a kitchen scale reveals the following filter weights: 255 grams for the Bosch 3312, 267 grams for the Purolator PureOne PL14459, and 289 grams for the M1-104. The weight difference between the Purolator and Bosch filters is probably due to the thick, textured exterior paint used on the Purolator filter. The Bosch and Mobil 1 filters use a thin layer of normal black paint. All three filters use similar perforated metal tubes in the center, with a slightly differently constructed bypass valve on the M1 filter. All three filters claim 99.9% filtering efficiency, with only the Purolator and M1 filters claiming extra dirt holding capacity (useful for longer filter life).

Only the M1 filter has a claim of extra filter strength with the claim "Heavy duty filter canister: withstands 9x the normal vehicle oil system operating pressure". I believe this, as the thicker steel construction of the M1 filter makes for a much stronger filter canister.

From what i can tell the K&N filter and this look the same. When used with extend M1 oil, it will go for 15,000 miles or a year. Its 2012, we shouldn't have to change oil every 3,000 miles like we did in the 60's. I've used this for a few years, seems to do the job.

Great product at a decent price. They came in a typical Amazon box with bubble wrap, plus the items were in their original boxes. Mobil makes good items and the quality is definitely a step up from the big 4-letter oil filter company.

I always use Mobil1 synthetic oil (0W-40) on my sedans and change the oil every 10,000 miles. This is the Filter to match the oil. The interior is the same as the K&N one... and cheaper!
