I ordered 5 of these filters expecting the orange filters that were pictured. What I received was 4 blue Pureone filters in beat up boxes and 1 orange Pureone filter.
Purolator changed the color of their Pureone filter years ago what I received was very old stock that looked like it had been beating around on the shelf for years. One of the blue filters even had a dent in the side of the can. I suppose these filters will work ok but they certainly are not as shown on the Amazon site.

I used to use cheap filters in an orange box long ago before I really started to get into turning wrenches and found myself hooked on automotive performance after my first time experiencing the sound and power of forced induction. Once I started to take a keener interest on engines and got into routines of doing used oil analysis' and really just paying closer attention to how I maintained my vehicles, both weekend toys and daily drivers, I started to invest in the extra couple of dollars on a quality oil filter. One can browse around the Internet and find many comparisons of oil filters disassembled to see exactly how they are made and what they are made out of. Having done that, I won't be running the cheap filters again anytime soon. Now on the flip side, there are many who do and do so with success and the horror stories are few and far between... but for me it just makes sense to spend the extra cash.I change my oil around every 5k despite my UOA's showing I could push it longer. I drive a lot and my daily drivers get a LOT of miles on them. Well maintained, I put around 200k miles on a car before I sell it and buy something else. Assuming I change my oil every 5k, that's 40 filters during the life of the vehicle or approximately $240 for a lifetime supply of Purolator PureONE filters at current day pricing vs $160 if I used the cheap filters through the life of the vehicle. I'd rather have the piece of mind of a well constructed filter that's not likely to fall apart and cause significant damage to my engine than save $80 over the life of the vehicle gambling with the cheap filters.

I've been using these filters for the last three years and they've kept the oil very clean. Sometimes the rubber gasket gets stuck to the filter housing so it's important to make sure the gasket is removed with the filter otherwise a double gasket will leak oil everywhere. Other than that I love these filters and will continue to use them.Honest reviews on Purolator PL14460 PureONE Oil Filter, Pack of 1
