I've been using these oil filters in my Neon SRT-4 for about 100k now and they work great. The last time I had the head off the engine (at 140k), everything was pretty much spotless inside with no oil residue buildup. Not sure that all has to do with the oil filter but i'm sure it contributes. I do wish that they had a sandpaper like surface to grip them like the Fram filters because the smooth finish makes them hard to remove, especially if you have any oil on them. I bought a strap wrench long ago that works great for these. I pare these with Mobil 1 5W-30 Fully Synthetic.

I use Mobil 1 extended interval motor oil, and I pair it up with theses oil filters. I have done a couple of oil change analyses, and the results are remarkable. I usually change my oil every 5-6 months, and about 10,000 miles. I have overly 180,000 on my Taurus, and these filters have saved me a small fortune. Trust me this oil, and these oil filters will not disappoint. Note: when changing the oil make sure your car is cool. The one down side, is the oil filters are hard to grip, so make sure you wear gloves.

With Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filters we can be assured of safe extended oil change intervals. I change once a year on or near my birthday.

I've been using these on my Tacoma since I bought it new. For a few more bucks you can get a lot more filter media area than the regular size filter (M1-102). IMO, a stock Toyota engine doesn't require Mobil 1 oil. I run Castrol GTX but your motor should outlive the truck as long as you change it regularly regardless of oil choice. However, I do like using the Mobil 1 Oil Filters. Great price for 2-packs from Amazon.

I've long used Mobil 1 filters after seeing cutaways of various brands. Never had a problem with them. I recently sent an oil sample into Blackstone after running Amsoil through my Tacoma (I use the M1-209's on my 09 V6 Tacoma for slightly larger capacity) for 9600 miles. I'd intended to swap the filter halfway through but never got around to it. The analysis came back with a big thumbs up, the oil was clean with dirt found in it. I'd done two desert camping trips in this period, so I'm quite pleased with these filters and will continue to keep them in all of my vehicles.

I love K&N products and I am slowly switching all my cars over to their line up of oil filters for all my cars and also my 3 motorcycles . I may pursue to see if I can find one to fit my lawn tractor. Good quality.

Superb oil filter that works very well. When oil is changed, it looks almost like the day it was put in. I would say it is the best filter on the market, at least so far.

I take my car to redline at least a couple of times per week, and with oil changes every 3K miles, my oil comes out still looking relatively clean (not obsidian-black) like with other oil changes on other cars. I don't know if it's because I have always taken great care with my car's maintenance, I always use Mobil 1 synthetic oil, and I always use quality filters. Anyhoo, the filter seems to do a good job at keeping your oil, and thus, your engine internally clean. My odometer is at 120K and I plan to keep using these filters (or Mobil 1's) for the foreseeable future. This is similar to the white K&N (K&N HP-1010 Oil Filter) but is a few bucks cheaper. I am not sure whether the white filter is any different internally (i.e., more filtration media), but if it only adds the ability to wrench it off, I'm not sure that it is worth the +$4 premium-just remember to oil your oil filter gasket with fresh oil before installing it, screw it on and then turn an extra 2/3 turn once it touches; and it should come off pretty easily when the time comes for the next oil change.

Excellent filter. I've used these for about the last 5 oil changes in my vehicle which I use primarily for daily commuting but will put it on the highway for extended trips as well. I always pair with a synthetic oil, usually Mobil 1 which I also will be posting a review for, and the two never let me down. I research all items before I use them on one of the most expensive investments I'll ever make, my vehicle. Currently at 112,000k and have only had to replace the battery in my Honda. Prepping to do some routing maintenance before it's due but as far as the filter goes it keeps the oil looking clean even at the 5k change mark. Never any sludge on the drain plug, always easy to remove by hand, have never needed a filter. Gasket always comes off clean. At the price Amazon has them I picked up a few just to have on hand for future changes. K&N products are a staple in my garage.

Very well made quality product, been using it for years and never had a problem, went 150 Mph in one car with one and worked fine, don't recommend you do that unless legal. If your filter is mounted in a weird spot then you can go for the HP version that has a nut mounted on the end of the can.

I had my car serviced with MPT 0W-40 replacing the dealer's recommended Mobil1, and after two tanks refuel I measured an increase of 3 mpg better mileage with my normal driving habits; it is really worth the extra money considering the direct fuel savings and almost double mileage duration between oil changes that MPT advertises.

I ordered 5 of these filters expecting the orange filters that were pictured. What I received was 4 blue Pureone filters in beat up boxes and 1 orange Pureone filter.

Purolator changed the color of their Pureone filter years ago what I received was very old stock that looked like it had been beating around on the shelf for years. One of the blue filters even had a dent in the side of the can. I suppose these filters will work ok but they certainly are not as shown on the Amazon site.

I used to use cheap filters in an orange box long ago before I really started to get into turning wrenches and found myself hooked on automotive performance after my first time experiencing the sound and power of forced induction. Once I started to take a keener interest on engines and got into routines of doing used oil analysis' and really just paying closer attention to how I maintained my vehicles, both weekend toys and daily drivers, I started to invest in the extra couple of dollars on a quality oil filter. One can browse around the Internet and find many comparisons of oil filters disassembled to see exactly how they are made and what they are made out of. Having done that, I won't be running the cheap filters again anytime soon. Now on the flip side, there are many who do and do so with success and the horror stories are few and far between... but for me it just makes sense to spend the extra cash.

I change my oil around every 5k despite my UOA's showing I could push it longer. I drive a lot and my daily drivers get a LOT of miles on them. Well maintained, I put around 200k miles on a car before I sell it and buy something else. Assuming I change my oil every 5k, that's 40 filters during the life of the vehicle or approximately $240 for a lifetime supply of Purolator PureONE filters at current day pricing vs $160 if I used the cheap filters through the life of the vehicle. I'd rather have the piece of mind of a well constructed filter that's not likely to fall apart and cause significant damage to my engine than save $80 over the life of the vehicle gambling with the cheap filters.

I've been using these filters for the last three years and they've kept the oil very clean. Sometimes the rubber gasket gets stuck to the filter housing so it's important to make sure the gasket is removed with the filter otherwise a double gasket will leak oil everywhere. Other than that I love these filters and will continue to use them.

Nice filter with rough surface with good grip.

Lookes cool under my car. Kitcar with Subaru engine that can be seen from the rear.

Every couple of years I do some web research to see how different filters are rated and what they cost. Needless to say I've used these filters exclusively in all our cars for the last eight or ten years now. They seem to have the best price to filtering ratio in my research and recommend them to all my friends. If you change your oil religiously every three thousand miles these may not be worth the money. But with busy lives if you happen to forget until five or six thousand miles these are worth the extra money in my book.
