I've used Mobil1 and K&N oil filters for well over two decades along with Mobile 1 and AMSOil fully synthetic motor oil in my family's two cars with no sign of performance degradation or hints of engine wear for a total of over 460,000 miles. Extra cost for this type of filter is well worth it.

I have to admit, I am a bit of a geek, often "over-analyzing" minor things like what my foot-pounds of torque are at various RPM stages and comparing my power band arc to other similar makes and models. That said i did some analysis into what oil would do well with my car. I wanted to make sure that I didn't choose just "any" synthetic oil, after all there are still different levels of quality when it comes to Synthetic oils as well. In my opinion the oil and filter you put in your car is one of the single most important things any car owner can do. Here are my before and after calculations to Synthetic,

Given: I drive a Ford Edge Sport Edition (this is the same Engine as the Lincoln MKX)

Before Running OE conventional Oil: City MPG 18 / Hwy MPG 21

After Switching over to Synthetic High Performance: City MPG 18.7 / Hwy MPG 24 (holy crap!)

Improvement: City 3.8% increase / Hwy 14.3%

*Note: My wife often says I drive like a bat out of hell, so keep in mind your results may vary from mine.

Mobil 1 0w40 has always been one of the premier products from Mobil 1. Mobil 1 0w40 is not "just," a another viscosity. Mobil 1 0w40 European Car Formula is actually different from other viscosities of Mobil 1 in more ways than just its weight.

I often will run oil analysis on oil that comes from my cars, or even on a new bottle of oil, just to see its composition.

I am a Audi Mechanic and we use this in everything. The extra cost to put any type of Mobil synthetic is about 15-20 dollars an oil change but with synthetic you can run the oil much longer and still be properly protected! I have seen regular or organic oil wreak havoc on Audi's engines because they break down so fast. Do yourself a favor and always run synthetic oils in every car you have!

only the second oil change on new Honda 250crf and used this oil. Price was good and I changed at around 3000 instead of the called for 8000 miles. I know people imagine things and I know I am a new rider with only about 5,000 miles under belt now but it really seemed like the very first time out on this oil made a real difference in how the motor and shifting felt. It stood out as smooth/very smooth so that I had to laugh inside my brain bucket after just a few miles. Clutch and gears felt like butter was melted in there. Big smile. It hasn`t leaked out. I got the pack of 6 quarts and with only needing 1.6 per change I will do it again before it is due just because I love my bike and it makes me so happy to have something run that smoothly.
