Review of Bryke Racing Parts 701-250 Oil Filter Cutter

Customer Ratings:

I do my own maintenence on my airplane. Looking into the oil filter during routine maintenence is standard operating procedure. Most airplane filters are large compared to auto or motorcycle filters, which i have, so standard cutters would not work.

The Bryce Oil Filter Cutter is the right tool for my application. It cut the can easily and quickly.

I am quite pleased with my purchase and recommend it to other mechanics.

I'll give it one star because I can't give it none. The cutter will not open aircraft filters. The cutting wheel is too low on the filter to get a good bite. I was unable to cut the first two filters I tried, had to use a different cutter to finish the job. After the second filter, the cutting wheel was shot. This is by far the worst tool I have ever purchased.

I was trying to cut open a aircraft oil filter. I was disappointed with this product. It will not cut open filters with a male fitting. After I cut the male fitting off with a hacksaw it still was difficult to operate. I'll not be using it again.

no need to 'cut-off' the male fitting,to accommodate the filter cutter.

It unscrews and should not be a problem.

Cut's through cleanly and gradually after 2-3 rotations and knob adjustments. Much more fairly priced than every other similar version out there too!

Good for new/low mile cars, not as great as compare to other brand like Mobil 1, but good enough for 5000 miles interval changing, and cheap, not junk stubs for sure.

Excellent oil. I use it for 2008 E350-4matic. WallMart carries Mobile 1 0W40 for $6.47/Qt. it is cheaper than Amazon and any where else.

Mobil 1 0w40 has always been one of the premier products from Mobil 1. Mobil 1 0w40 is not "just," a another viscosity. Mobil 1 0w40 European Car Formula is actually different from other viscosities of Mobil 1 in more ways than just its weight.

I often will run oil analysis on oil that comes from my cars, or even on a new bottle of oil, just to see its composition.

Mobil 1 0w40 has more additives in it than say one of the more common viscosities like 5w30.

The reason being is that this 0w40 product is recommended or approved by many European manufacturers who have stringent standards. Indeed, some of these manufacturers do not only require specific performance requirements for this oil, but will actually specify where the additives packages must be purchased from. Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and BMW are just some of the manufacturers who have approvals on this oil.

Furthermore, all AMG vehicles and Porsches come from the factory with this very 0w40 Mobil 1. It is even used in some racing vehicles around the world.

Mobil 1 does not just meet specifications, but tends to exceed those specs.

Some might argue that Mobil 1 has changed its formula a lot over the years. However, one thing is clear. Mobil 1 0w40 is a quality product, approved by some of the most stringent manufacturer specifications, and it is the same formula found around the world.

Amazon has great opportunities to have this oil delivered to your door. There are often rebates available on the product.

It's a proven product. Recommended.

I am a Audi Mechanic and we use this in everything. The extra cost to put any type of Mobil synthetic is about 15-20 dollars an oil change but with synthetic you can run the oil much longer and still be properly protected! I have seen regular or organic oil wreak havoc on Audi's engines because they break down so fast. Do yourself a favor and always run synthetic oils in every car you have!

This oil is a great oil. Mobil 1 0W40 is better than Valvoline Synpower 5w40 MST because it also Meets BMW Longlife 01 including to that it also meets Mercedes MB 229.5, Porsche A40, Porsche Approval List 2002, VW 502.00/505.00/503.01

Great oil lousy price.

Same 5 qts from Walmart is just $22.47 plus tax.

The convenience of front door delivery isn't worth another $25.
