To make a scientific comparison between the performance of this filter and other brands needs a laboratory and other measuring devices which most of us (Do It yourself)ers don't have access to. So, I'll just tell you my personal experience:

I Use this filter (Bosch 3323) with my 2006 Honda accord VP (4 cylinders).

I drive 10'000 miles a month ( yes ten thousands miles a month) and I change my oil and filter once a month.

I use this filter with Mobile 1 Gold container (Extended Performance) Marked up to 15000 miles.

my car does not need to be lifted off the ground for oil change, all I need is to turn the wheels all the way to the right.

Now, the filter :

Easy to screw in and hand tightened.

despite the larger size comparing to Honda OEM filter I still have enough room for both my hand and the filter to fit.(applies to the car I mentioned).

Never leaked

Never triggered oil light on dash.

Easy to screw off.

Other brands need a tight grip tool to unscrew even when I'm using the right method of hand-only to tighten the filter.

When I use FRAM TG I need a special grip pliers to unscrew and I have to squeeze hard to a limit the filter shell is bent.

The filter is sold and shipped by Amazon, the filter and the box looks authentic. with this price, I would feel comfortable to buy directly from Aamzon not from Amazon Market Place sellers.

My local Wal mart and Amazon too offers a higher end Bosch filter but for double the price. I'll just go with this one. Bosch is Bosch why pay more for the same brand.

Update:

4/8/2013

This filter is made locally by a US manufacturer (Probably PUROLATOR). Bosch does not have a filter factory in the US. They contracted with a local factory to make those filters, paint them black, print a code on top, and ship them in bulk to another place where the filters are labeled with a paper sticker that has Bosch info and Bosch Model that correspond with the code printed by the manufacturer. the filter comes in a box that says : "country of origin is printed o the filter". I found the codes are very close to PUROLATOR codes.

All in all , I'm very satisfied with it.

What can I say? I read several reviews on-line about oil filters. The Bosch PREMIUM gets good reviews. It's priced right. It's slightly larger than the OEM on the Honda Fit a good thing. It fit perfectly. It wont break the bank. I ordered 2 for the next scheduled 10,000 mile oil changes. No kidding. The wife's 2012 Honda Fit just got 10,000 miles on the original oil before the driver's "oil minder" said it was due.

I'm running this filter with Mobil One Advanced Synthetic of the manual recommended grade of 0W-20.

FWIW, for over 4 decades I have heard so many arguments about what oil and what filter to use and people get really heated about it. Let me tell you that age old piece of advice that still holds true today. When it comes to engine life, it is more about changing the oil & filter when required and not so much about what oil or filter you use. Not that there are not valid arguments that if you use a certain oil or filter you can expect longer engine life. I'm sure that's true. But no, much simpler than that. When trying to figure for yourself what oil and filter to use, ask yourself when was the last time you wore out an engine. Most folks replace cars every 4 years. I've personally owned one I bought new for over 20 years (130K miles) and another for over 15 (135K miles) and another for 250K miles (don't remember the years). I changed the oil & filter religiously on all at 5000 mile intervals. I used anything from premium filters to Walmart Tech filters and oil to premium synthetic oil & filters. None of them EVER had an engine problem. The cars around those engines fall apart eventually. That's my point. So many people think that they have to use this or that so that they can get the most life from a car that they themselves will be replacing in about 4 years anyhow. They don't even give themselves a chance to wear it out.

So.... Change the oil & filter regularly and with what is recommended by the manufacturer. "Meet the specs" and worry not. Just my 2 cents.

Best Deals for Bosch 3323 Premium FILTECH Oil Filter

the filter has a great drain back valve, with a fram filter my oil pressure light would turn on for 3-4 seconds when my engine was first started now with this filter the light is normally never on for more than 2 seconds Even after sitting for a week

Honest reviews on Bosch 3323 Premium FILTECH Oil Filter

Item works as intended. Looks and acts like normal filter from stores in person. No dislikes. Came in box as shown.

I have researched car parts and oil a fair amount and these Bosch filters usually show up near the top of the list for quality and the price is fair. If you change your oil at recommended intervals and don't drive in dusty conditions this is probably all the filter anyone needs. Has the flow, good antiflowback, gasket, etc that you need.

These OEM filters have the silicone anti-drainback valve in them, to keep the oil in your top end when the engine is not running. Aftermarket filters allow the oil to drain back into the pan, causing more wear in the engine at startup, which you do not want.

Amazon price is getting very high on these(7.99 each)Bought several when they had them for 4.50 each. Wal-Mart had them today for 3.99 .I bought a dozen at that price. It is a great filter. The dealer cut in half a Fram and a Motorcraft and displayed them side by side. The Motorcraft had twice as many pleats which = more filtering.

I always have a hard time finding this filter and don't get a price this good. Will buy again when needed.

Honest reviews on Motorcraft FL500S Oil Filter

The filter is of excellent quality and made really well. I ordered these because I could not find the filters anywhere in my area at such a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

No leaking, filters well, no particulates coming out of the filter after a change. It's big and has a lot of filtering material so I know it will last. Seems very well built.

I have used Valvoline's Max life in my 30 year old pickup truck for years now, I was impressed after the second oil change a few years back when my old cork gaskets seemed to expand back to their original sealing ability and my "oil leaking" decreased by a noticeable amount. The price for this "six pack" was superb compared to purchasing locally, especially when coupled with the "Free Shipping" option.

This stuff just came out and was a cheaper alternative to G-Oil. I picked it up locally for $2.99 a quart on sale at O'Reilly the first time, then through Amazon for $3.80ish a quart with subscribe and save. I used it in my sister's 2008 Honda Civic EX 5,000 oil change intervals. Works the same as regular oil, looks the same coming out., reduces dependence on foreign oil, sounds good enough for me to buy it. Oil analysis looked great also.

NextGen MaxLife is a good motor oil and at less than three dollars per quart it's a pretty good deal.

Honest reviews on Valvoline MaxLife NextGen 10W-40 High Mileage Motor Oil - 1 Quart

I've used Valvoline for over 30 years, and have never had an engine failure with Valvoline in the engine. I like the idea of recycling in a positive way. I've talked to Valvoline engineers at trade shows. I'm not a chemical or petroleum engineer, but information I get from the Valvoline people documents a deliberate, intensive process to distil, clean, and revitalize the oil to where it's better than new. When I change the oil, it comes out looking much cleaner than that of friends using other oils. I feel I'm saving money, and yet treating my engines better than with alternative brands. I highly recommend this oil, and use it in my kids cars too.

it's oil can't really say much...

car motor oil rating

but when you do purchase oil at a local home store ..

make sure the rating is higher level ..

the rating system for oil goes by *API ABC rating or normally with only two letters.. * American Petroleum Industry*

last time i purchased oil at a store it was SJ so make sure it is higher than that..

so make sure you get a higher letter.. but always make sure you look what it declared the highest rating..

it does change quite often

I run this oil at an 8,000 mile change interval on my 1995 Toyota Supra Turbo. I send the oil out for testing at Blackstone Labs and change the filter (Purolator Pure One) every 4,000 miles. While RP is a bit on the expensive side, it's freely available and I can grab a quart in the store if needed unlike Amsoil or RedLine. I've got 189,000 miles and the wear levels on my motor are equivalent to a car with 50,000 miles on it.

I own an ATV which, until my grandson came along, I haven't used a great deal. I found this oil was the best deal for a fully synthetic oil of this weight. It has been in the ATV for about a year and no problems at all.
