I purchased this product as opposed to the $24 assenmacher filter wrench because I'm poor and owning a 99 s80 only makes me poorer. I had no problem getting the filter off with this tool. It doesn't seem flimsy or anything. Perhaps the people who claim it "strips" don't understand that they shouldn't go all Bignuts on a filter cap and torque it down stronger than excalibur? Anyway, this thing worked just fine for me and allowed me to save $20 to put towards the next thing that breaks on this volvo.

The metal piece that the ratchet goes into is only pressed into the main housing. Sheared right off and came apart after using it the first time.

Despite the fact that the manufacturer never cross references it for BMW, it is the right one for my 2008 E90 335i. There's no reason to pay more for the other brands that Amazon carries. It's cheap and it works.

This fit the oil filter cap perfectly on my 06 volvo s80. I would recommend you make sure this fits your car before you buy.

I buy only Purolator filters. I use it on my gen 2 prius and i have the oil tested by Blackstone periodically. I can go 10K miles on this filter and still have quality clean oil. The texture on the filter helps for removal and installation. The folks at Purolator are very helpful as well. I had to all on another car and had a fitment question and they were as friendly as can be.

Purolator has a customer for life in me! Plus most of their stuff is MADE IN AMERICA!

Rated the best "value" filter on the market by independent testers that tested each filter on the market by using them and then cutting the filters open to see how they held up under actual use. They then rated the filters on how well they fared and also how well they were made.

i use this brand of filter for most of the cars. i just love how they have a sandy finish outside so you can get a good grip when you're trying to screw it on or take it off.
