I followed the recommendation of 3,000 to 5,000 miles on the first two oil changes. I'm using this oil in a 1982 VW Vanagon Westfalia. This oil has made the engine run quieter and it gets between 1 and 2 miles per gallon better fuel mileage. I have to believe this indicates the engine will last for more miles than with conventional oils. Ron H.

I buy this particular "HPS" Royal Purple because of its higher zinc levels for my older cars. It also has their "synerlec" technology. The regular Royal purple you buy off the shelf has been reformulated to meet smog standards now in place and doesn't have the additives I need.

After a little reading I found this oil to be the best. It is a little pricey compared to others out there, but it is an actual full synthetic. I would also recommend this oil if you have a turbo car, it is easier on the turbo.

After some extended research, I came to the conclusion that this Benicia, CA -based oil is the only synthetic oil that is available for purchasing in the US of A. Almost all other "synthetic" oil, even the German-made Pentosin, is actually dino oil that's claimed to be synthetic due to no regulation.

Very nice that it is now available for purchasing directly from Amazon.com for a competitive price, ships fast!

Runs great in a Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L petrol engine.

This is generally accepted as "the" premium oil for 2-strokes, especially Merc products. Probably these contain the full gallon, but they "feel" as though they're only 2/3 full. Why would the company build-in such a huge air pocket? I'm not going to actually measure the volume and I'm going to "assume" there's a full gallon, but with all the fraud and misrepresentation of products out there (we call it fraud), companies need to be especially careful about avoiding even the appearance of impropriety.

Works great in my Johnson 115 HP outboard. Burns clean and doesn't foul my spark plugs like other namebrand oils.
