The title of this review almost says it all. I've read extensively about oil filter construction and performance, and this has consistently been one of the top-rated filters by sources I trust as not being biased or misguided in what makes for a good oil filter. Yes, they are expensive (as are the Mobil 1 and Amsoil), but you get what you pay for. If you have a precious/collectable engine to protect, don't skimp here. The price from Amazon, plus qualifying for no shipping fees, made them the place to make this purchaseI ordered several to qualify, but they'll get used, so it was money in the bank.

The best build quality + filtering, plus the 1" "wrench off" feature makes this my favorite without exception.

There are various other high quality oil filters; however, at the very reasonable price here, I just buy this one.

Runner-ups for those feeling extremely price sensitive are non-wrench-off K&N filters, or Mann filters (for VW/Audi at least).

fit perfectly on 1.8 turbo engines! I still have it on my car so, I can not tell properly the final result of it. but, its k&n... they know what they do

Honest reviews on K&N HP-2005 High Performance Oil Filter

Had meineke install in when they did an oil change on my 17 year old car and i don't notice a difference in power but i am also confident it is cleaning the oil inside the engine better than a stock OEM lousy replacement...

I've just did the service of the car and I changed the old, regular oil filter, let's see if this is better than the other... Besides that, it looks like an excellent product, like any other K&N part. Great price, fast shipping!

Reviews of Red Line 11804 0W-20 Motor Oil - 1 Quart Bottle

I drive a 2002 Corolla. It is notorious for losing oil. After tons of research I discovered that the piston rings were poorly designed with too few and too small holes. This makes them susceptible to over heating and carbon deposits that plug them up. Redline oil has a very high flash point and doesn't leave carbon residue on the metal like other oils do. So although it won't solve an already existing problem (by itself), it does prevent the problem from progressing. I used to lose a quart of oil per tank of gas. Now, I don't lose any even after 7000 miles on the same oil.

Redline is one of the few oils (even among synthetics) that are ester based. Esters are cleaner and much more heat tolerant.Redline is expensive but if take extended drains into account, it becomes a lot more reasonable. They're a small American company who will take the time to answer any questions as well.

I use this oil (mixed with the 5W-20) in concert with this filter microGreen 101-1 Oil Filter which I consider to be the best filter on the market. They make an unbeatable combination in my opinion.

I believe Redline to be the best oil on the market.

Red Line Oil makes first class products within the oil industry. If you haven't done any research on them, you should. They are highly respected in the Racing world.

Our 2012 Honda Civic calls for 0w20 and recently crossed the 10,000 mile mark. Feeling that it's well "broken-in" I decided to make the permanent switch to Red Line. The additive package in this oil is very stout with high ZDDP and very high Moly content for an oil. The 1.8L engine in the Civic runs very smoothly with this oil. I have typically been stuck on 5,000 mile oil changes with over the counter synthetics, but now will run at least 7,500 miles on this oil. Most engines could likely go further than this as well.

I also love Red Line because they are a small independent company located in California. On top of that, their products are true synthetic oil(ester based). Not only is this a better oil, there is no foreign oil interest! The company is also very helpful. I've spoken with Dave and he's extremely helpful and will recommend products based on your needs. I will be using their D6 ATF next time I service the transmission. Also, I'll be switching our 2003 Corolla to their 0w30 and D4 ATF.

Note: This oil isn't officially licensed by the API due to the high ZDDP content(good thing) and also it's very expensive to get the license. This doesn't phase me though, the additive package and base stocks are superior to other oils in my opinion. Plus, in the VERY unlikely event your engine fails under warranty; the Magnuson-Moss warranty act protects you from your dealer denying a claim based on oil used. They would have to PROVE that the oil specifically caused the failure(highly unlikely).

The PureONE filter is about the best you can get for your car. I average 100-150 miles of hard and fast driving at track days and the oil comes out clean and smooth when I'm done. The surface of the filter is pebblegrained so it doesn't slip in your hand when tightening or loosening. It has very fine particle filter specs, last time I checked it filtered the smallest particles out of the filters tested.

I use Purolator PureONE PL14459 oil filters in my 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe (2.7 liter engine). I drive over 30k miles every year and change oil and filter at 3,300 miles intervals. Current mileage is 169k miles.

At 99.9% efficiency these filters far exceed OEM filter specifications. Filter construction and performance are superior. The silicone anti-drain back valve is a real plus. It helps reduce engine wear during cold starts. As a mechanical engineer I'm very particular about choosing after market auto parts. I do my own maintenance and have gotten 275k and 325k on two other cars. Both cars engines were still running fine when they were totaled in accidents by inattentive drivers.

One reviewer indicated their filter was hard to remove. This can happen with any oil filter, regardless of brand. Simply place a few drops of fresh oil on the oil filter gasket before installing. Hand tighten only, do not use a filter wrench to tighten. I never have problems removing these filters and I do 10 or more filter changes annually.

I run these for 2+ OCI's on both synthetic AND conventional. I just took the filter off of my Hyundai after two oil changes' worth of miles (2,900 on GTX and 4,200 on QS = 7,100 mi) and I felt wasteful throwing it away. It still felt solid and the oil looked clean. The filter still looked wonderful with almost no signs of use.

I've seen these filters cut open after 10-12k and the media is still perfectly in tact and everything looks good for yet another run. These Pure Ones will do everything the "distance" filters will do and at half the cost. Not to mention 99.9% efficiency at > 20 microns is the best in the industry right now. This already tells you they will do their job. These are solid filters guys.

P.S. if you're really pinching pennies, look for sales on Quaker State filters they are made by Purolator and are the same as the regular Classics. Not as good as the Pure Ones, but still great filters.

In our household,

we have 2009 Honda, 2002 Camry, 2011 Kia Optima.

I use Purolator PureONE filter in all of them.

These filter have great filtration rate, and after doing about 50+ oil change jobs by my self, I do not use anything else.

I often buy these in bulk and carry them in my car, just in case I need to do a oil change with local auto shops.

Yes this might not be the cheapest oil, but at least you can rest assured that it is the exact correct oil for your B&S. This 48 oz. bottle is the correct amount of oil for OHV engines typically found in riding mowers. There is also an 18 oz. bottle used for the smaller L-head engines found in push mowers. My local home and garden store only carried the 18 oz. size, so rather than having to buy 3 smaller bottles and having an odd amount left I bought the 48 oz. size.

When changing the oil, my particular engine took a little less than the full bottle, so I have a little extra to use for topping-off the oil during the season. I can't say too much about the oil other than it works fine! My 17 year-old engine isn't complaining and still runs great!

FYI, if you care not to buy B&S oil just about any detergent SAE 30 oil will do. Avoid multi-grade oils like 10W-30 in these engines.

There is nothing fancy about this oil. It is just an over priced SAE30 oil. This oil is actually made by Olympic Oil, a smallish North American oil company that also makes Ace Hardware oil which is considerably cheaper than this oil.

Also, for approximately 5 or more years now, Briggs & Stratton no longer recommend SAE30 oil as their top oil recommendation. Briggs number one oil recommendation is now synthetic 5W30 oil for all their small engines. Go to their website and search for recommended oil if you don't believe me. Synthetic oil consumes less and keeps the engine cleaner while leaving less deposits on the valves and piston rings. Also, synthetic oil can be found at any big box retailer or parts store for about $4 to $5 a quart.

Great price and it comes to my door. Will buy again in 1-2 years when it's time to change the oil on the lawn mower again.

I bought a few items for a tune-up on my lawntractor, it needed an oil change. It's great I can go to my kindlefire and order everything I need in one order, shipped in one box for less without leaving the house!

Good oil for small air cooled engines. Usually one bottle is enough for a 5hp or below, larger engines will require 2 bottles.
