I have used these filters for a very long time. I buy them by the case. I love the rough rubberized coating on the end of the filter. Now for use on the filter solvents where you pour solvent through them into a barrel and then out the end of it. These work really good but only on small CALs It does not hurt to use slow flow either

There is no one in the professional auto world that trusts Fram!

Fram has a horrific recent history of manufacturing oil filters that fail. Their filters leak and do a poor job at filtering impurities. There are websites devoted to discussing oil and oil filters and Fram products are nearly universally criticized and avoided. There are also videos online that investigate Fram oil filters and they are nearly all universally negative.

Purolator, Wix (NAPA), Mann, Mahle, are some quality filters. Fram are the worst filters and you are risking harming your car.

Search the internet for yourself: Fram is the only oil filter company that has no way to contact them! No phone number or no email address. The other brands I mentioned have a way to reach them. Fram doesn't because doing so the phone line would be jammed with complaints.

Search the web regarding "Fram Oil Filters" as see for yourself.

Tried and tested many many times. I like fram because of price and convenience of finding one. I used to use store generic until I heard of the case against wally world regarding their super tech filters. Now, I just use this tried and time tested filter.

BTW, the black bottom is actually a plus for hand tightening the filter. It's made of wrinkly dried paint. True convenience tool free installation.

Honest reviews on Fram PH3600 Extra Guard Passenger Car Spin-On Oil Filter, Pack of 1

Since I got my first car, Fram has always been the oil filter brand I would reach for. The PH8A was the standard ford oil filter for years, And I went through plenty of them. Now my new vehicle has the ph3600 size. Although it is smaller, it is still the same great features as the PH8a. Always reliable and never a leak or ill fit. very consistent. It was a nice improvement whe they added the grip end to these as well, very hand when you have oil on your hand. .

Be sure to check with the Auto or Truck Manufacturer to find the correct SIZE of Oil Filter for your vehicle. Amazon's Parts Locator says that the Motorcraft FL820S does not fit my 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis, 4.6 Litre V-8 engine. This is incorrect. The fact is that the Motorcraft FL820S is the FORD-recommended filter for my 1995 Mercury engine, and is recommended in almost every application of the Ford /Mercury/Lincoln 4.6 Litre engine size.

The Motorcraft FL820S interchanges with the BOSCH 3410, the FRAM TG2, and the K&N 2010.

The Motorcraft FL820S has over 50 pleats, good flow rate, silicone anti-drainback valve, and steel end caps. It sells for under 4 dollars in the chain auto stores, and is an excellent value that's MADE IN USA !!

My car is driven in heavy traffic, desert temperatures, mountain driving, and trans-desert trips from Phoenix to L.A.

The standard FORD Motorcraft Filters performed just as well as the high-dollar types -and filtered MUCH better than the K&N, which has a very high flow rate (for racing), but the low 90% efficiency rating of the K&N makes it a no-no for extended oil changes. I wouldn't run a K&N oil filter for more than 3,000 miles -you'd just be stirring up dirty oil and pumping it through the bearings !! :>(

For my American V-8 engine, I have found the best value to be the Motorcraft FL820S Oil Filter and NAPA Full Synthetic 5-W-30, API "SN" rated engine oil -which also meets the latest GM "Dexos1" performance specifications. The quality of the oil filter allows for filter changing every 5,000 miles, and the engine oil is changed every 10,000 miles.

For maximum oil life, be sure your PCV system is working properly -Wash out the PCV Valve with Carb Cleaner, and check for collapsed and/or damaged PCV hoses. A leaking PCV system will suck un-filtered dirt right into your engine !!

Motorcraft makes very good quality filters. I've read several comparisons one with great deal of detail and meaningful research. The results always ranked the MC filters among the very best and usually much better than the brands you know by name.

The only problem was that I didn't do much research before my purchase. I found out later that I could have purchased these at my local Trak Auto for much less.

5 star quality. 1 star value on Amo.

Only filter that will fit my 93 crown victoria. I tried fram, but I could not get it to fit,as there is almost no leeway,so I went back to motorcraft, and have been using it for 20 plus years on this same car.

Honest reviews on Motorcraft FL820S Silicone Valve Oil Filter

It's a "Motorcraft FL820S Silicone Valve Oil Filter". It shouldn't be better/ worse than the same unit from a different supplier. It was cheaper at Wal-Mart. I expect it's better than Fram, etc. Is a Wix or other premium brand better? Ford made the truck and this oil filter. Seems a safe bet.

I have used the oil extractor a number of times for changing oil on my boat and jet ski and it works great. Make sure you warm up the oil by running the engine before extracting it will allow the oil to move more easily into the vesel.

Having been an ASE certified double master technician for over 24 years, I can honestly say this is one of those products that is worth every penny and works flawlessly. It is well constructed, durable and easy to set up and use. I recommend this product for any do-it-yourselfer who is into maintaining any yard, hobby, or big toys they may have.

This thing is awesome, I wish I had got one years ago. The end section is made of a flexable metal with coated plastic making it easy to squirrel around and find them hidden puddles of oil. I originally got it for a small bicycle engine that requires to turn upside down and pour out through the fill part. But no more will I be taking out the oil plug on my cars and missing the pan. Just pump it about nine or ten times and watch the oil run out...Only downside is you might have to explain what it is if your probation officer does a home visit.

Honest reviews on Hydro-Turf Oil Extractor OIL01

WHY I USE AN EXTRACTOR IN THE FIRST PLACE:

My car has a pan underneath that takes a few screws to remove in order to get access to the oil drain plug. Extracting from the top is just easier.

THIS IS MY SECOND EXTRACTOR:

I used to own the Mityvac which broke after a few uses. Replacement parts were too expensive and I ended up tossing the $75 product. The thing was bulky, hard to fit into the car when taking it to dump the oil. Other complaints include the hose being too short and requiring too may pumps to extract oil. Many complaints about that, so I wanted a better alternative when it came to replacing the unit.

WHY I CHOSE THE HT MOTO EXTRACTOR:

It's the only thing available.

Smaller and therefore easier to store.

Great reviews.

Price was right.

DO I LOVE THE HT MOTO EXTRACTOR?

Although it doesn't take continuous pumping and is actually not recommended, it requires repumping during the oil change. I suppose this is typical and is the only way to really do it. Scientifically speaking, it's the nature of the beast, so no complaints. It is what it is.

The unit itself is super small. It's like a cute oversized 6 liter teapot. The size makes it easier to store and I believe the tiny size also makes it easier to create a vacuum if you're extracting about that much oil out of your car. The larger Mitivac took awhile b/c the volume of air is so much relative to the oil being extracted.

The unit is easy to put together. A 5 year old could do it and it does not require any tools.

The small size is not only functional, but is easy to put in the car for dumping at your local place where you do that.

The hose is long enough. I used to have to put the Mitvac on top of a box of Mobile 1 oil to get it high enough off the ground to make it work. I could have bought a new hose, but at $75, it should have everything I need. The HT Moto is much better in terms of this.

No complaints on this unit. It does what it's supposed to do and does it better than the competition. The price is more competitive and it's easier to store. No regrets on the purchase. Although it takes me just as long to do my oil change as it would if I had to put my car up, crawl under there, remove the pan and pull the drain plug, at least I can write this review while my oil's being extracted automatically from the HT Moto oil extractor.

Time to go repump.....

I can not beleive how GREAT this tool is. It makes oil changes a JOY, clean and easy. I have been changing oil in my cars for 35 years. I have lots of memories of laying on my back with oil running down my arm, or spilling oil out a pan or dropping the drain plug into a pan full of oil..... NO LONGER..... I am sure I am getting 99% of the oil out by going down dip stick hole.

Once all the oil is out it is in spill proof contaner and easy to bring to the local tire/oil change/auto part place to recycle. I really love this tool.

On my 2010 VW JSW (Jetta Sportwagen) TDI (Turbo Direct Injection Diesel) the Dealer wants $85 after all the tax and Haz Mat disposal. Although the recommend oil change interval are every 10K; I do it at about 6,500-7,500. Oil and filter are about $50. Money I save I can change oil more often.

VW has a belly pan that requires 19 screws be removed.... to access the drain. It takes me 30 min from start to finish to change oil and filter with the Hydro-Turf Oil Extractor. It would be double that going from the bottom and a lot more messy.

VW recommends you change the drain plug and crush washer everytime.... another $4 every oil change. The oil filter is on top of the engine in a canister so there is no need to get under the car. Also the oil filter is vertical and sits on top; the base of the oil filter housing has some deep pockets in the base. I used the hydro-turf oil extractor is great at getting every drop of oil out of the oil filter housing, a significant amount, at least 3 to 5 ounces of oil...... Again what little old oil remains is insignificant and with the ability to drain the oil filter housing, not possible with out an extractor, it is as good as drain from the bottom at the pan method in my opinion. Highly recommend.
