We do a ride accross the desert here in Southern California annually and if I didn't see first hand what this oil did I wouldn't have believed it! Often times during this ride we have to stop our Harleys at least twice due to over heating (usually the temp outside is 100-120f through these parts.)

On last years' ride i decided to put a thermastat directly into the oil tank. My bike was getting @ 240-250f with the harley shop oil. This year, I put the Maxima 4 15w50 oil in on a recommendation from a buddy of mine. The outside temps were the same as the previous year (117 degrees) and my bike never got over 223 degrees the whole time...i didn't stop except for gas!

I will also note that it seems to run smoother and also seems to start a little easier?

When possible I like to use orignal equipment on my GM vehicles. The factory filter use anti drain back valve if the engine requires it to prevent dry starts.

This oil felter is prefered to its newer model the PF61E and is hard to find. I thought I was getting one two pack because the picture showed two. Two would have been a good price but only one made it very expensive since I ordered two, thinking I was getting four. I will not send them back but I will be careful not to assume that just because the picture shows more than one, that I am getting more than one.

I use this everyday in a shop and it works great. Quick and mess-free solution to drain plugs. No more dropped oil drain plugs with the knurled speed ring. Makes each change that much more efficient. The color-coded sockets are easy to identify and the ratchet slides right on. Only complaint is sometimes on 13mm plugs the socket is a little looser than a regular 13mm socket. It's a hit and miss though some 13mm it will work fine others it wont depends on the kind of bolt head.

Well I made this purchase during a bit of a late night impulsive shopping streak..and while it is a very cool set does just what it advertises, it really isn't all that different than a standard set of sockets. The magnetic part is cool, does help keep the plugs from falling in the oil reservoir. Perhaps too much of an impulse purchase for me, but if you're a tech, not a bad set to have.

The Gear Wrench 7 Piece Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Set is a high quality ratchet set with nice sockets that have finger grips for those hand adjustments. While is labled for drain plug usage, one would probably find several other applications.

Unfortunately for me, it will be a low-use item. I didn't note that the version I purchased was metric. In fact, at the time it was NOT noted by the seller (not Amazon). Since my 40-year-old truck most definitely uses a standard sized plug, I won't be using it there. And right now, it's cheaper for me to take my Honda somewhere than to do it myself. Additionally, even with the low-profile ratchet and sockets, you still need some decent clearance to get this where you need it. I ended up buying a flex-end wratcheting wrench in the size I needed to slip over the drain plug, which works better for me.

If you are a casual home mechanic that regularly works on newer cars or imports that use metric sized drain plugs, then this would probably be a good purchase. The nicely milled and cnc'd color-coded sockets are easy to identify, and have a good weight and quality to them. And the magnetic feature is nice to keep the plug from dropping into your oil (nothing worse than fishing for a plug in hot oil)! However, if you only work on one vehicle, or if you have very little clearance to get to the plug, your money would probably be better spent on a high-quality ratcheting wrench of the size you need.

Some things just don't change no matter how high tech the world becomes. One of those things is the fact that mink oil remains the premier product to soften, preserve and protect your leathers. This particular brand is new to me, but I find their mink oil to be superb. I've used it on boots, leather furniture, leather jackets and my car seats. It has a perfect viscosity so that it can be worked over and into the leather very smoothly, especially working it into creases and over stitching that a stiffer consistency wouldn't allow so readily. The container it comes in screws shut securely to help prevent oxidation, but the the container itself arrived in sealed plastic so that it remains as pure and fresh when you open it as the day it was manufactured. I went to their website and see they make a variety of products for leather and especially saddle care. One product contains mink oil, silicone and even vitamin e and is designed to combat repeated wetting/drying cycles that, say, rugged leather boots would encounter. I am happy to see also, that the company is in Wisconsin, USA. Very happy with this mink oil and will probably experiment with some other products they manufacture.

I prefer Feibings products to Kiwi because they seem to be made from natural sources moreso than the thin petroleum route. In fact, my dog once ate a whole tub of Feibings mink oil and didn't even get very sick. I'm pretty sure almost every other type of mink oil sold would have killed her. I use this mink oil to rub into leather products I make before sending them out the door. And I use it to make old leather bags more flexible and less likely to break or tear. The smell isn't bad because it doesn't smell like fuel oil. If you're looking to protect your boots, I would recommend Feibing's Snow Proof. It's almost like a soft puck of beeswax that'll really help to waterproof leather better than this mink oil will. My leather products that are rubbed in mink oil still take water into themselves. However, spotting once dry is minimized.
