I have a 91 Camry with 196,0000 miles that I can't part with, and dealership has changed to 5W oil, which I don't think is as good for high mileage cars. Got this product and can't tell about gas mileage yet, but it is smooth as a top running on the interstate for an hour at 70 mph.....going use this oil and hope I get another 100,000 miles out of it. It uses about a quart between oil changes and this oil says it helps stop oil leaks. We'll see.

I used this oil for my last oil change in my 1998 Chevrolet Prizm (115,000 miles), and I've noticed that my gas mileage is better. I usually fill all the way up every week, but this past week, I didn't fill the tank all the way, and I was still able to go a full week on 3/4 of a tank without refilling :)

A good product at a reasonable price. It may be cheaper at some retail stores but with Amazon Prime shipping the filters and oil it may break even and save a trip.

I worked as a tech at jiffy lube and used pennzoil and I trust it more then any other oil out there and only in California I wouldn't trust jiffy lube over there oh and at Walmart it's 17 bucks for the high mileage oil

Always loved Burt Reynolds & the "Smokey & the Bandit" movies but his endorsement of Pennzoil really had nothing to with our choice in motor oil & so I guess this title then is pretty silly. In my thirties I got lazy & started taking my truck to Jiffy Lube, back when you could still trust them, & their choice of motor oil was Pennzoil not sure if it still is or not. But anyway have now heard too many horror stories about screwed up oil changes from various quick lube places that I feel safer doing it myself. & much cheaper if you buy the oil from Amazon :)

This was exactly what I was looking for (a very wide-mouthed jug that can hold more than one oil change), and surprisingly, I've never seen another product like it.

I've always stayed away from using the bulky oil pan/container combos, because they look like they would make a mess, and are usually very low quality. Using one of these with a traditional open-faced oil pan is perfect, and creates very little mess. The mouth of the jug is even wide enough so that you don't need to use a funnel when transferring oil from the pan to the jug (so long as you're somewhat careful). If you've been using old milk jugs or something similar, then you know how much of a mess this can create due to spills, over-fills, and drippy funnels as you switch jugs. The extra wide mouth, and 12 quart capacity eliminates all of these problems.

I got this at a local autoparts store for about half of the current listed price on Amazon, and even then felt that I was over paying (but like I said, I've never seen another product like it, so I had no choice but to pay what they were asking). As other reviewers have mentioned, the plastic is very thin, and the cap does not go on very securely. I filled it with water when I got home in order to test it (better to have to clean up a water mess than an oil mess), and found that there were no leaks at all around the thin plastic's mold seam, but when I turned it upside down, as predicted, the area around the cap leaked heavily.

This shouldn't be a problem so long as you don't over fill it, but it would be nice if it were better quality. Just pick up any American-made gas container, and you will immediately see and feel the difference. These jugs are made with blown plastic, and probably cost less than $0.50 each to produce and ship, so it really is a shame that the price is so high.

Like I said, these jugs are very convenient, but due to the poor quality, and the fact that they will obviously get knocked around while doing what they were intended to do, I don't expect it to last longer than a year or two. Oh well..

I'd been looking for a product like this for quite some time: A container intended for storing and transporting used motor oil. I change my own oil, and have always had a self-storing oil drain catch pan. It held about the same amount as one of these containers, but was hard to store and even harder to transport.

Nothing terribly special about these containers. The approximate dimensions are 11.5" tall x 8.5" wide x 12.5" long. It feels quite sturdy, holds 12 quarts, and the mouth is approximately 2.5" in diameter. It seems to be priced kind of high for what it is: a molded plastic jug with a cap. But it's exactly what I was looking for, and it's the only one I've ever seen. I bought two, so as to avoid frequent trips to the local oil recycling center.

The plastic on this container is very thin. The lid is poorly designed, does not seal properly and thus leaks. If you are still intrigued by this item and must have it, go to Walmart. It can be had there for $3.98; cheaper than Amazon/Ace Hardware.

I saw this product in my local auto parts store, was not impressed with the overall quality for the price, I have been using 5 gallon frying oil containers for years ( available at any restaurant ) and those seem to be just as good as this product except they are free.

I have owned my 2002 Road King for 9 of it's 12 years on earth and I just recently happened to read my manual regarding oil recommendations. It gets really hot in the summertime here in Arkansas and I ride a lot in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. I was surprised to read that Harley recommends a 50W oil for use in extreme heat conditions, so I ordered some Lucas 50W synthetic from Amazon since it was the only 50W synthetic I could find. So far I am very happy with the oil. No oil consumption, no heat issues so far and the price was right. Of course Lucas and Amazon have stellar reputations so I had no hesitation with my purchase choice.

Many years ago my mechanic recommended this oil for my high mileage taxicab. It always did the job; never a motor problem.

I don't claim to know much about motor oil except for the fact that you need it and you need to change it. I change mine every 3,333 miles.

No matter what oil you use here's a good way to remember those oil changes: 3,333, 6,666, 9,999. When any of these 3 sets of numbers become the last 4 digits on your odometer--that's when to do an oil change. Nothing to write down; nothing really to remember.
