Wix manufactures outstanding oil filters. They supply the NAPA Gold line of oil filters and are identical filters.

The only difference is the paint job on the filter housing. I buy these for my Acura and they are excellent-no leakage.

PROS

1. Greatest Bang for the Buck in my assessment.

2. Has a superior Silicone backflow valve compared to standard nitrile valves on most conventional oil filters.

3. This filter has 25-Micron pleated filter media.

CONS

1. The only line of filters better are the NAPA Platinum (Also manufactured by Wix), but they are overpriced.

Suggestions:

1. Buy by the case (12) and save on Amazon. Free S/H is an added perc.

2. I avoid going to the brick and mortar NAPA stores because counter service is almost always poor, it is inconvenient and the prices can be marked up depending on the franchise and the location.

3. Since Wix and the NAPA Gold line of oil filters are identical, shop by price. (NAPA Gold oil filters have the same four digit part number as Wix minus the "5" prefix).

3. Don't forget to lubricate the oil filter gasket with a light film of oil before installing.

I work in the aftermarket automotive parts industry, and after evaluating the differences in oil filters offered from Walmart (usually Fram) I've settled on the Wix brand due to its superior build and filtration qualities. It may be unfair to compare Fram to Wix since Fram is clearly a low-price brand, the difference in Wix's superiority is more than worth the difference in price (about $3.) I've seen Wix's advantage in its other filtration products too, so I only use Wix for cabin & air filters also in the Honda Odyssey (every time I get an exact fit).

Amazon Prime saves me 45 minutes of not having to drive to the auto parts store. This is extra time I can spend with my family which makes me a 'Happy Dad'!

This is the correct oil filter for 2012 Polaris Ranger 800 XP. Changed oil and filter today checked with micrometer perfect fit.

I have a 2003 350z and this is the perfect filter for it. It is a big longer than the recommended stock replacement, but it fits just fine and gives you extra filtering material for the same price as a smaller one.

Longer cartridge than it's counterpart, the 51365. With everything else essentially the same (minus dimensional length), this one is also cheaper, so why not use the potentially better filtering agent, a.k.a. 51365, due to additional media filtering? Sounds like a fair and logical venture. Tuuuuuurbo!

I use this oil in my 1990 Geo Metro. The car has used this same oil brand and grade ever since it was first broken in. I also use an Amsoil add on bypass oil filter to take out the tiny particles from the oil; which ordinary filters do not catch. The result is that, with more than 300,000 miles on the original engine, it still does not show signs of wear. And the extra wide 5W-50 viscosity range does not degrade as the miles accumulate. I am totally impressed with the performance of this oil.

I have been using this in all my cars and trucks for many years. I live where it gets very cold and also travel to Phoenix, AZ where it gets very hot (over 110 F) so I like the broader range of viscosity 5W-50. The other brands don't even make this viscosity! Not even the ultra expensive Amsoil or Royal Purple make this! Great product!

I was looking for a synthetic motor oil with added zinc for my classic 1956 Mercedes 190SL. Consider that this oil is significant thinner than your usual W30. Check all your seals. However, I can highly recommend this for your classic car. Merchant had a competitive price and shipped on time.

This is a necessity for changing the oil in my Forester, where the filter is recessed deep in a hole such that it is very difficult to grip cleanly with other wrenches (e.g. strap wrench). I can't believe I didn't buy this sooner. Not sure if it fits the current Subaru-branded filters, because they occasionally change the casing size. The tool seems well-made.

This is the kind of product you would expect from K&N. Thick plastic end caps force oil to flow through the dense filter media. There seem to be many more folds per inch than other brands I have used. I didn't measure the exact count but you can tell from the picture that they are closer together. They even include a screw in drain plug for the filter housing, for those folks who don't let the oil run all over their hand and down their arm.

I ordered this for a replacement filter for the first oil change on my new Lexus. The quality of the K&N filter was leaps and bounds over the factory filter. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. FYI, your vehicles manual and the instructions both say to use the Toyota oil filter wrench, but you don't need it. If you have a three prong self adjusting oil filter wrench it will do the job. just be careful, you need to reuse it.

The filter seemed fine and was sturdy in construction with plenty of pleats . The little plastic drain that is supposed to screw into the bottom of the filter was another story . The threads on the drain plug were totally defective and unable to screw into the bottom of the filter to drain the small amount of oil that resides in the filter housing. A little bit of a mess even with a pan under the Camry , but all in all a very good filter and I would buy again.

The filter at first try did not seat right, as it looked a little to high. Pulled out and check against the used filter. It was the right size, so I put the K&N filter back and tried again. This time I used a little force to seat it all the way down. It finally seated. I would buy the same one again, now that I know what to expect.
