This filter is priceless for the simple addition of the attached hex nut removal bolt. Why ALL manufactures don't add this is beyond me. I used to fight and struggle with silly oil wrench removal tools that don't fit into tight spaces. Now, it's SO easy to get the damn filter off! The straw that broke the camels back was after having my oil changed at the dealership... They cranked that thing on so tight I ended up having to pierce it with a screwdriver just to get it to turn! No more! If you do your own oil changes DO NOT buy any other filter for your car! K&N, if you EVER need a spokesman for your filter give me a shout!!

I purchase this oil filter for infiniti M45 and infiniti G35 and have used them on the civic Si, Rx-8, and nissan 95 240sx with a sr20det s14 VTC type. I keep them around because they work on a plethora of engines: honda K20/24 & J30 V6, Rx-8's rotary, Nissan S14 SR20det, VQ35/37/40, VK45, VR38DETT, mitsubishi 4b11 (evo X) and 4g63(evo 8/9/ eclipse) and many more.

The nut is a life saver in tight spaces, and especially on the new 2006+ civics Si which have a very tight and confined installation space. As for filtering i've taken an old one apart and noted the filter media is very high quality i'd say as good or maybe better than most oem filters.

I recommend it, it's a good filter just to keep around/ have since it works on just about anything my friends have.

You can change this filter in 5 min flat.BONUS: Put a small ziplock bag around the filter as you are removing it. That way, all the oil will catch in the bag, and you won't have a mess on your hands and floor.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX xoupe and have used this oil filter for over 140,000 miles. On top of K&N's reputation and performance having the 1-inch nut on the top make it much easier to remove when changing the oil. Excellent product. The reason I am only giving this 4-stars and not the 5 is because this last one that I bought said that it was made in Korea. Every single one that I have purchased before was made in the USA. I hope that it was only a small batch. The K&N oil filter I use for my Mustang GT (2009) still says that it is made in the USA.

it might cost more, but i trust the K&N brand. i have a 2010 nissan xterra 4x4 6spd. it gives me a peace of mind when I use K&N products. Easy install and uninstall.

This filter gets the job done. Sure, it costs more than a fram, but it can not be compared to one. I Trust it will keep my oil cleaner longer, and if it gets struck when i need to change it, i do not have to stab it with a screwdriver, just wrench it off. Been buying these for years. I match them up with Mobil 1 synthetic and credit them with keeping my Infiniti G35's engine in top shape!

Love the spot welded nut on then. Makes taking them on and off very easy with a 25 mm (or 1") socket on a 1/2" drive ratchet. No meesing around with silly oil filter wrenches.

These things cost about twice what OEM filters cost and in reality I have no idea if they really keep the oil cleaner, but it makes me feel better!

Probably the single best oil money can buy. This oil consists of mostly Group V base stock, which is why the price is so high, even among "boutique" oils. But if you are a racer or run a car very hard that is already tough on oil (turbo's, direct injection, etc, are brutal on an oil) this may be for you.

I am pushing 400 WHP (horsepower at all four wheels, not at the crankshaft horsepower, which is the usual rating), from a turbocharged 2.5 liter engine, on road racing courses, with sustained high RPMs for 20 minutes periods. In one day that is like driving 80 miles while you brutalize your engine for all it's worth. In approximately twenty such days I have never had an oil related failure.

This is not your everyday oil for your daily driver. It is a low viscosity range oil for a high pressure, high performance, high temperature engine.

Keep that in mind. It is not cheap, so there are better, more cost effective synthetic oil options for a street car.

This oil has a very high tbn and is rich in anti-wear ingredients. My cars run smoother and get better mileage with this stuff. Redline is a oil good too, however, customer service sucks there. Rp customer service and tech support is much better.

Not to be confused with over the shelf rp at pep boys. This is a different oil.

Searched Amazon.com for an oil filter for my HHR and found one for a very reasonable price and shipping arrangement as well..

Yes I would duplicate this order again and will if it is still available when oil change and filter time comes around again.

This purchase allowed me to have a cap for the oil filter too as well as new "O" ring which is necessary after a while over the multiple oil changes, but I prefer every oil change to be safe.

The price beat all local prices on this item and all Internet Prices I searched so needless to say I made the purchase along with a few other items needed and related. The free shipping was included with the purchase of these additional items and this review will be cut and pasted to those items as they are reviewed along with one added piece of information on the special socket for the oil cap removal review.

I purchased a Groupon voucher for a $10 oil change. I figured the oil itself cost more than $10.

I went to the local car care center (Nuno's Auto Care)with my voucher in hand. I was told, for your car there will be an extra $12 charge for the special oil filter. I told them "no way", and walked out.

I went home and logged onto Amazon and found this genuine GM AC Delco filter and a spare plastic cap for less than $10. If the quality is good enough for a brand new car, it's good enough for my 3 year old Malibu. It fits perfectly. Yes, I also had to buy 5 quarts of oil, but I prefer to hand my money to a trustworthy retailer than pay a premium price for a non premium filter at a service center with questionable business practices.

Was pleasantly surprised to find a high quality made in the USA Hengst filter shipped under the A/C Delco label. For a new cap, a new gasket and a new filter, the price on Amazon was a bargain! Best to replace the plastic filter cap about once a year as these things will crack over time. And the price of a cap plus filter is only a few dollars more than the filter alone. Only thing I could have asked for different was a protective plastic cover over the filter. Unlike store bought filters which come protected from abrasion and foreign particles in a plastic bag inside the box this one was in the A/C Delco cardboard box with no protective cover. But filter appears no worse for the wear.

Since I got my first car, Fram has always been the oil filter brand I would reach for. the PH8A was the standard ford oil filter for years, And I went through plenty of them. Always reliable and never a leak or ill fit. very consistent. It was a nice improvement whe they added the grip end to these as well, very hand when you have oil on your hand. .
