This is good stuff but I still needed to add friction modifier for my 2004 ford explorer with limited slip differential. I changed the fluid because there was a slight vibration from the rear end. After changing the fluid and driving a bit I noticed there was still some vibration. I then added motorcraft's friction modifier for less than $10 and now everything has been good. No vibration for over a month now.

I presently use this in a 2007 Dodge Nitro SXT (56,000 miles) and a 2005 Yamaha Royal Star motorcycle (shaft drive, 88,000 miles) which are both frequently operated far from population centers. I've also used this in my previous Dakota pickup truck and my Mustang hardtop, total mileage on all vehicles in excess of 500,000 miles (206,000 on the Mustang, 166,000 on the Dakota) and no problems experienced with any of them. I consider it cheap "insurance" for vehicles I depend upon to get me wherever I need to be.

this was what we ordered unfortunately after it shipped we found it in the store for less $$$ but was unable to ship back without paying a fee due to it was of no fault on their part that we no longer wanted product. It was cheaper to keep then to return with fee, just wish we would have checked local store sales first

Used in a 1992 Chevy S10 rear end completely rebuilt with 4:10 gears, torsen locking differential and all new bearings and seals. I used this when I rebuilt a Ford Mustang 8.8 rear end also. One of it's advantages is that it is formulated to properly lube the factory clutch type locking differentials.

This is good oil, and is a Group Three "synthetic" which means it is a highly processed "regular" oil which performs as well as a "full synthetic" and thus, by legal decision, can be called a synthetic in the US. It would NOT be called a synthetic in Europe. Wnat to know all about "Group III," try the "Bob is the Oil Guy" website... (BITOG.com) Using this oil has eliminated the little start up puff of smoke on my high miles Toyotas and reduced oil consumption to almost nothing.

Rotella T is a perfect oil; been running it in tractors, trucks and even gas engines for more than 20 years and it has served my equipment exceptionally well...however...AMAZON MARKETING ***PAY ATTENTION***

I understand your intent with "subscription" ordering, but for some people and some items it does not work. Rotella T Synthetic for example: to get it at the same price as I can get it locally I have to "subscribe", but the way I use oil, I need to order it as I need it. I typically always have 3-6 gallons on hand to change oil as I need to, and then I buy more to have on hand for next piece of equipment that needs it. Depending on the time of year and the equipment being used I am changing oil every month and other equipment maybe once a year. I have enough bookkeeping/ tracking challenges without managing a "subscription" for a product that has so many variables.

I don't want to pay more than I can get it locally. The only thing that forces me into our local Wal-Mart is oil and filters (seriously). Show us (your customers) some of the same loyalty we have shown Amazon for many years; give us your best price and let us order things the way we want or need to.

My wife and I are loyal Amazonians and will continue to be. The bottom line; I appreciate what Amazon has created, especially for people that are rural, isolated or incapable of getting to stores. Can we close the loop and do this "subscription" thing better? For some people and some products, it may work well, but when it doesn't work for others, should they have to pay more for the same product? At the end of the day, we are all buying products from somewhere...let's make somewhere Amazon and keep me out of Wal-Mart for good!

Seems to be the same product that the dealer sells only less costly. Recommended replacement for every oil change because the aluminum crushes as you tighten the drain plug creating a great seal.

This is an OEM Toyota oil plug gasket that can probably be used for other vehicles as well, as long as they have the correct diameter plug to fit. These are good enough that they do not need to be changed every time the oil is drained. They do not seem to be soft or squash out after one use.

I used to use the copper washer, but I ran out. I decided to use the OEM washer. For about $1 per washer, it's well worth the investment. The washer comes with black felt covering on both sides, and it fits perfectly around the drain plug. Just tighten the plug 1/4 turn after tightening by hand.

I have never had a filter related problem in all the years I have used these filters. Definitely work the few extra bucks over cheapo filters that are using paper elements.

When I bought this, it did not specify which variant of the 5w-40 this was. Ordered to find out. It is the MST version, the mid-SAPS oil.

This is neither a good nor bad thing. What it means though is that in gasoline vehicles in the US, due to the sulfur content in the fuel, you will get faster TBN depletion than with a full-SAPS version (the HST version of this oil has a TBN of 10 versus this which is 7.1). With a TBN of 7.1, it is not definite whether it is a 10k mile OCI oil, but it will do better than 5k miles, which is just about doable with a low-SAPS oil.

It is a pretty light 40wt, good for economy.

After a 5k OCI and a UOA, Ill update.

This is the 5w-40 SynPower MST (it's on the label). I've read a lot of great things about the quality of this oil. Approved for use in VW, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz.

Great stuff, one of the best synthetic oils out there. Use it gas and diesels vehicles and it's certified by many manufactures for both uses. Sad to they just jacked the price up so I'm back to my local NAPA store for a lower price. To bad for Amazon as it was the place to buy this great motor oil.

Different grades different certifications; 5-40W is the only one with certification for TDI and other diesel engines as well as all gas engines. Great stuff if you run a multi-fuel fleet.

As an example of why I use this oil I have a TDI with over 350,000 miles and the only thing ever touched on the engine is the timing belt every 100,000 and a couple of glow plugs. I also have several others vehicles well over the 100,000 mile mark with no engine failures.

I've used Valvoline SynPower SAE 5W40 in my 2006 Jetta TDI from 50,000 to 70,000 miles. I think it's a great oil that holds up as good, if not better than, Castrol SLX or Pentosin. I'm not tearing the wheels off my car, but I have a two hour commute to work and I average about 75 to 80 MPH on the highway. The price is good also!

This is definitely the best oil out there, I've heard about royal purple being good as well, never tried it, but, this one is just great. The engine runs unbelievably quiet and smooth.
