Used it on my 2012 WRX, extensive investigation as to what oil is best for a higher power turbocharged car yielded more answers than how to cure the hiccups. So I bought this, it is compliant with warranty and works just fine. No excessive burning off in the 3000k miles since I changed it, meaning I haven't had to top off yet. Plus its a whole lot cheaper than designer oils which are not supported under warranty. I have personally voided my warranty already through modifications but some people care about keeping up with theirs. Sadly it doesn't come in 5 quart bottles so you are forced to pick up the extra quart or buy the 3 pack of gallons.

Best Subaru SAE 5w-30 Subaru Synthetic Motor Oil - Gallon Bottle Deals
This oil is great for anyone looking to properly maintain their warranty. I bought a 2013 WRX recently and I am on my second oil change. The stock Synthetic Subaru oil seems to be working quite well! No complaints here!

I've been using Purolator Pure Ones since they were that blue-ish purple color many years ago and never had a problem w/ their filters fit, finish, filtration, or engine problems. These are highly rated on a lot of car enthusiast forums and I'm sure many of you have seen the filter cut out/internals websites that also say these are good filters. I used the PL14459's on my mid 90's Acura/Honda's and used the Purolator Pure Ones w/ every oil change (5-7.5k w/ full synthetic motor oil) for several hundred thousand miles on these cars w/o any problems on these cars. Now I have 2 never Acura/Honda's that use the PL14610 and I'm still using Purolator Pure One filters. Great product, the anti slip coating is nice, but I liked the blue/purple color of the previous design better/more aesthetically pleasing, anti drain back valves, no cardboard internal drain back valves like some competitors, and cheaper than buying locally at my local pep boys + tax and wasting time to drive there and back. Great price, does the job, can't go wrong. The only other filters I use are STP, Bosch, K&N, Mobil 1 when I get those oil change specials that are packaged w/ an oil filter, and Mahle/Mann's for my bmw M3 since Purolator doesn't make a pure one for the cartridge style vehicles, otherwise I'd use purolator pure ones in it also. Also use the Purolator Pure One PL10241 in a Toyota/Lexus and it works great! Great product, I've been using Purolator Pure Ones for the last decade or so. I've probably bought and used 20-30 of these among different cars in my lifetime, never had a problem. Purolator Pure One is Pure #1!!!
Most bikers agree this brand(Pure One) is the best filter money can buy, fortunately very good priced too. Meaningthe built quality, materials used, level of cleaning of oil impurities/particles... are the best. If you want to try another brands for some reason, the next better filters areMobile 1, Bosch, Super Tech(Walmart)in this order, all made from Champion.
Do yourself a favor and NEVER buy ANY motorcycle brand filter(like Honda, Kawasaki...etc.)they are very bad quality, in terms materials used and cleaning performance... Just think about ityou want to use a product from a specialized manufacturer, who knows how to make great things and their existence depends on their main product. Like Hondathey have Great cars and bikes, but NOT oils and filters...
If you by chance need info for motorcycle oils tootry Shell Rotella T6 Full synthetic 5W-40 (blue bottle), sells in Walmart too for $24/gal. It seems to be the best proven oil for sport bikes, without friction decreasing additives, which can cause a clutch slipping in bikes with wet clutch.
If need even more info, here is a link of one very informative site:

P.S. The Amazon "will this fit your vehicle" feature (now) incorrectly indicates the PL14610 does not fit my vehicle. A quick check at the Purolator website reflects the correct applicability. I suggest you double-check this and other automotive items at the manufacturer's website prior to making a purchase.

I am a mechanical engineer, very informed about all car and bike's maintenance and repairs. Belong to many biker's forums and constantly read a lot of information about bike maintenance... Best Deals for Purolator PL14610 PureONE Oil Filter, Pack of 1
I recently installed my first Purolator PureOne on a 2011 Honda Ridgeline; it appears to be working as expected. The one I received had some grip control (yellow textured paint) overspray around the gasket. It was easy enough to remove, but Purolator should make QC adjustments to avoid potential filter contamination. I went with the PureOne based on recommendations from a vehicle owner's forum. Time will tell if the extra cost provides superior protection.P.S. The Amazon "will this fit your vehicle" feature (now) incorrectly indicates the PL14610 does not fit my vehicle. A quick check at the Purolator website reflects the correct applicability. I suggest you double-check this and other automotive items at the manufacturer's website prior to making a purchase.
Honest reviews on Purolator PL14610 PureONE Oil Filter, Pack of 1
I recommend that it's a good idea to clean the mating surface and the internal metal face of the filter prior to installation. The two I purchased had tiny pieces of cardboard/paper dust, and also paint overspray on the inside portion of filter near the gasket, toward the holes. The overspray is the yellow textured paint, most of which I easily wiped off, while some I dislodged with a fingernail. A little more attention to quality would be nice, although otherwise it's a good filter.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Purolator PL14610 PureONE Oil Filter, Pack of 1
These are really great filters and heavy duty too. If you measure the media element (by volume), there is not another filter out there that beats it. In fact, most of the other brands on the market are half to less than half when compared to this one. Even with their great filtration I always add a little something extra to mine, to catch the fine particles of metal that get through the media. I strongly believe in oil filter magnets and insert two inside the Pure One, before installing. Since their media only catches particles down to 20 micron, I let the ceramic magnets stop the ones from 19 on down to 1. You can read the technical on this process at the oil filter magnets. com pages if you are interested. I have used for over 10 years and they really work, I always find metal on them after removal of filter at the change interval.Wednesday, May 28, 2014
Cheap Shell Rotella 550019921-3PK T6 5W-40 Full Synthetic Motor Oil - 1
This is good oil, and is a Group Three "synthetic" which means it is a highly processed "regular" oil which performs as well as a "full synthetic" and thus, by legal decision, can be called a synthetic in the US. It would NOT be called a synthetic in Europe. Wnat to know all about "Group III," try the "Bob is the Oil Guy" website... (BITOG.com) Using this oil has eliminated the little start up puff of smoke on my high miles Toyotas and reduced oil consumption to almost nothing.
I understand your intent with "subscription" ordering, but for some people and some items it does not work. Rotella T Synthetic for example: to get it at the same price as I can get it locally I have to "subscribe", but the way I use oil, I need to order it as I need it. I typically always have 3-6 gallons on hand to change oil as I need to, and then I buy more to have on hand for next piece of equipment that needs it. Depending on the time of year and the equipment being used I am changing oil every month and other equipment maybe once a year. I have enough bookkeeping/ tracking challenges without managing a "subscription" for a product that has so many variables.
I don't want to pay more than I can get it locally. The only thing that forces me into our local Wal-Mart is oil and filters (seriously). Show us (your customers) some of the same loyalty we have shown Amazon for many years; give us your best price and let us order things the way we want or need to.
My wife and I are loyal Amazonians and will continue to be. The bottom line; I appreciate what Amazon has created, especially for people that are rural, isolated or incapable of getting to stores. Can we close the loop and do this "subscription" thing better? For some people and some products, it may work well, but when it doesn't work for others, should they have to pay more for the same product? At the end of the day, we are all buying products from somewhere...let's make somewhere Amazon and keep me out of Wal-Mart for good!

CTA Tools A267 Cap-Type Oil Filter Wrench, 74.5-Millimeter Reviews
This is a quality product at a great price. Very similar to what you can find in the auto parts stores, but the key difference is that this is the 14 flute version that will work on some Mercedes-Benz diesels as well as the 4.3L M113 engine.I tried to find this wrench at all the local parts stores with no luck at all. They all can find them for the 3.0 and 3.5 all day long.

Buy Royal Purple 31530 HPS Street Synthetic Motor Oil 5W30 Pack of 6
This is hands down the best oil I have ever used. The price is steep, but the benefits are worth the money. Extended oil change intervals and a bump in MPG.I've tried various oils in my car and this is by far the best oil I've yet to run. I gained 6mpg on the freeway changing to this oil and my car feels smooth and strong like it should. I will never put any other oil in my car.
