I bought this filter because of the nut built on to the bottom. It makes changing my BMW's filter so much easier than not having the nut, or having a special filter adapter on my socket wrench. I have no oil analysis lab at my house, so I'm not sure if the actual filter is any better than any others, but the convenience of this K&N filter is worth it alone, and the price was less than OEM. I'll continue to buy these for my bike!

This oil filer arrived quickly and was as described. The original BMW part does not have the nut on the bottom of the filter and is a royal pain in the butt to remove if you don't have the BMW oil filter filter wrench ($$$). I will only install the K&N filter as long as I own my BMW k1200LT.

I installed this filter on my K1200GT. Did replace the oil after 5500 miles (used AMSOIL 10W40). I have never seen oil coming out of an engine after 5500 miles being so clean. I attribute this to the filter. Will keep using KN163. Thanks K&N.

10 micron vs. 25, when it comes to filtration, what more do you need to know. BMW stock filters are paper and sometimes disintegrate. Not the KN, finer and synthetic, excellent.

Came shrink sealed and without paper labels stuck on the filter shell. No need for a special filter wrench, this has a hex drive device on it's end which accepts a standard 6/12 point socket for proper torquing. Very nice!

I have always used Valvoline synthetics in all of my vehicles. I have never been disappointed. Unless you use other premium oils,(Lucas,Torco etc) this oil exceeds all expectations, quality and longevity at a lower price.

I haven't used these yet but I can vouch for these as a few people on my Honda Civic 8th gen forums have used these and recommend them. I bought these when there was a rebate special from Valvoline. Much cheaper than Mobil 1 Synthetic and I'm pretty sure the differences aren't THAT drastic. They're in the carton waiting for another 2k miles for an oil change. Definitely recommended!!

I have been using Valvoline SynPower Motor Oil SAE 5W-20 for my Honda Accord for quite a few years now. This is the best engine oil I know of. So I signed up Amazon's engine oil subscription service the moment I'm aware of it.

I was very shocked when I received the case of 6 bottles of this oil. I never saw any engine oil bottles that look so old and the printing on the labels have smear all over. They do not look like the products I used to buy from local shops. And I decided to drive back to my local Pep Boys to see what their bottles really look like. Their bottle look fresh and clean. And all labels are clear, no smear at all.

I don't know where the Amazon seller gets their stock. It seems like they can not sell the stock for a long time and finally got this clever idea of using Amazon subscription.

I finally replaced my engine oil (in my Accord) with this oil. I still remembered that my car will drive almost silky smooth right after each engine oil change. But not this time. By the way, my car has only 30K miles.

I cancelled the engine oil subscription yesterday and would not recommend this service to anyone. You'd better try Walmart as the other reviewer suggested.

This is a great product, but the price on here is outrageous. You can buy a 5 quart jug for $25 at Walmart. So for the same price you can get 4 more quarts. Also then you don't have to wait for it to ship. I love Amazon.com but this is one product that they fail on.

Seems to work fine. Since I do not have an oil pressure gauge, I can't tell if I get better oil flow. This filter is cheaper (in cost) than fram filter I usually buy.

I have been using this product in chainsaw,backpack blower,string trimmer, and even my Rokon 2 cycle motorcycle and it always seems to work very well. The surprising thing is my chainsaw was purchased in 1980 and I have used this product since it was available in my area in mid 80's. Always performed great as the tools that I have operated using this product seem to keep going and going. I use quality gasoline and this product does the rest. I can start my equipment with very few pulls and they run great. It contains a fuel stabilizer so if you forget to drain your equipment over very long periods it doesn't allow the jets in the carburetor to plug...so I have only good things to say about this product. It is easy to use and will handle any of the different oil/gas ratios in any of the products I own allowing for 1 tank of gas mix for everything. I have always told my friends I would glady do a commercial for this product.

I have been using this oil for about 5 or 6 years now, and I am pleased with it's performance. I have used many 2 cycle oils (Stihl, Amsoil Saber, Husqvarna etc), but I often come back to this one for several reasons. It is very convenient to measure. It says on bottle the top cup filled is approximately 2.6 oz. and when added to 1 gallon of fuel is a 50:1 ratio. I use 92 or 93 octane fuel. Another convenience is fuel stabilizer, allowing mixed fuel to stay fresh longer. Also the dark blue color of this oil dyes the mixed fuel more noticeably than some other oils. Which discerns it from straight gasoline easily. The only problem, as another reviewer stated is ***keep it out of a warm shed!***. I had mine stored in my 8x10 shed. The summer heat caused the oil to force in the top measuring cup, and overflow around the cap! Even though it was unopened! So beware of this problem. I have stored mine in my basement ever since. No problems since!

This is a great product, quite smokeless and the dispensing feature is well designed. Combined with a one gallon gas tank, this oil makes 2-cycle operations a breeze. My highest recommendation goes to this product.

I bought these because they are the proper threading and length to use as blanking plugs in my engine head after removing my Triumph's air injection system. I discarded the plastic washers and went with copper ones. Also had to grind that lip down a bit to ensure it fit well in that tight spot (though this may not have been necessary). Only complaint is I wish they were more readily available in silver or black.

I tossed out the plastic o-ring that came with the oil pan drain plug, the combination of desert heat of Phoenix and a PLASTIC gasket, I'm not going to trust it going accross the desert in the 110 degree + summer heat, I used a copper one from my nissan altima package of washers and then the plug worked as it should.

Got this for my 2001 Lexus LS 430. Nothing really wrong with the original that came with the car except the rubber piece was worn. This comes in gold/copper color versus the OEM silver one. I guess now when looking for the oil pan it's dead easy to locate in the dark LOL! These don't seem too expensive, yet probably unnecessary to replace each 6 months; maybe 24/36 months is better. Seems like it does what it should (no leaks so far) and with no obvious signs of poor build quality. Wish it was silver colored though.

I am absolutely certain it was not damaged during shipping so I can rule that out, besides I used it first to change the oil in my own car and had no issue with it. I immediately used it to change the oil in my wife's car and something caused it to crack, spilling about 4 quarts of oil on the garage floor. Neither cars' oil was hot, I did not drop the pan, nor did I drop anything in it. The only thing I can think of is that after I drained my car, I poured it into my recycle jug; perhaps the weight of the 5 qts of oil deformed the pan enough to crack it when I lifted it and since the pan was empty I didn't notice it. Its sort of a reach, but I have no idea how it would have cracked. I'm sure I got a defective one, but I think I'll spend a few more bucks on something more solid.

I have this drain pan, although I didn't buy it at Amazon. It works fine as a container to drain oil, but when you want to pour it into a container to take the oil to be recycled, it spills everywhere since the spout is terrible! It looks like a spout but was clearly never tested when this piece of plastic junk was designed. The oil dribbles around the edge of the spout and spills everywhere when pouring it out of the pan. I recommend you get one with an enclosed tube pouring spout, which you can find anywhere but tend to cost a little more.
