Cheap Valvoline VV301 DuraBlend SAE 10W-40 Semi-Synthetic Motor Oil - 1
This is the only semi synth. in a 10W-40 weight. The subscription price is great as well. What's not to like???I have a 2006 Vulcan 900. I switched to DuraBlend at 9000 miles. I have not noticed much of a difference from the original except maybe the bike runs a little smoother. The only reason I'm giving this oil 4 not 5 stars is because it has not blown my mind. I hope that this product proves worth it in the long run. I would say for the price that this has been offered at about $6 per bottle its less expensive than other oil on the market. I've driven about 1000 miles so far and am fairly happy. I hope to post an update after 3-6000 miles.

Pennzoil 550028488 5W-20 Motor Oil - 5.1 Quart Jug Review
Bought this for my 2006 Honda Pilot that has 75K miles. Also using Bosch oil filter with it. Good conventional oil and will continue to use it. The container has a clear line with measure marks so i was able to use it for measuring the fluid drained from the transmission when changing transmission fluid.

No pun intended but the handly handle(s) and the extra amount oil make this a great buy. Plus, after refilling the crankcase with the fresh oil, you can simply funnel the old oil into this container and take it directly to your local oil recycler. What's not to like?Best Deals for Pennzoil 550028488 5W-20 Motor Oil - 5.1 Quart Jug
Before shelling out money on this conventional Motor Oil for $20 + dollars from Amazon I would suggest that you check your local stores in your neighborhood first as they might have better deal. There is nothing really wrong with the product and will work just fine for about 5000+ miles hence 3 stars. But Amazon's pricing is high. I would rather pay same price for synthetic blend of 5W20 which lasts longer and keeps engine cleaner from a local store rather than purchasing this from Amazon.Honest reviews on Pennzoil 550028488 5W-20 Motor Oil - 5.1 Quart Jug

I only gave it 4 stars because the price is high. While it is a great filter, it doesn't show any better filtering than the best WIX filter which is half the price at any Napa store. Compared to a K&N of the same price then yes it is a great deal.
It's doing a great job of cleaning the oil. Royal Purple of course.

This valve worked great. I have these on a 2003 Ford Expedition, 2000 BMW M Coupe, 2007 Jeep Patriot and a 1984 Mercedes 300SD.
The key thing prior to installation is to look at your oil pan and see how the oil pan bolt is situated. Replacing the oil pan bolt with a Fumoto valve is not difficult, but you need to make sure that there is clearance for the valve to take the place of the oil pan bolt. Some oil pans have their bolts recessed in place, making installation of the Fumoto Valve impossible. This is where the correct extender needs to be used.
I recommend when getting a Fumoto Valve, to always get the one with a nipple. It will have an "N" designation in its model, like "F-106N" vs non-nipple model "F-106". The nipple lends itself to easier cleaning and also lets you clamp an oil hose with hose clamp so that you can better direct the oil flow. Once the hose is one, simply switch the valve open and let the oil drain out.
The only problem you'll need to watch out for, and depending on the design of the oil pan, you'll need to take care to see how the Fumoto Valve will be situated on the oil pan. It may protrude from the bottom of the oil pan and there is a chance that if you run over something, the valve may get hit. So, just keep this in mind while driving. The likelihood of having something hit it is rare though.
I will share my story that on my 1984 Mercedes which is very heavy with very bad shocks bottomed out while I drop over a large bump. It lifted the car, like any other bump would do, but upon landing on the ground, the bad shocks did not do much to absorb the rebound and the car's shocks bottomed out. Not a big deal except I heard a crunch and I knew if was the Fumoto Valve that scraped along the ground. I saw no trail of oil in my rear view mirror. When I got home, I jacked up the car. No oil spill, but I shaved a good portion of the nipple off the Fumoto Valve. It's still functional, but that was mostly my fault driving fast over a bump in a very heavy car with very bad shocks. The remaining valves in my fleet have been performing perfectly!
At first, this seemed like a great idea to me. I was a little nervous about the valve accidentally opening but convinced myself they had thought of this themselves when they designed this thing, so I went ahead and installed on on my car. I like that I can attach a hose before I open the valve and don't get any splash or get my hand drenched with hot oil. I figured this was a really great idea but I always wondered why manufacturers didn't use this from the factory. It made me a little nervous that it is hanging down there just asking to get nocked off but in reality, this would probably never happen except in an accident or something and I would know about it before the engine was damaged.
A few months later, I went to replace the oil pan gasket so I drained the oil using this valve and removed the bolts around the pan. I noticed that when I tilted the pan, more oil drained even though the drain is located at the very lowest point in the pan. Then when the pan was removed, I saw why this was happening. It did not drain all of the oil. The valve extends into the pan.
The drain valve threads into the hole in the bottom of the pan, but it also extends through the hole, in my case by about 3/16". So when you open the valve, all but the last 3/16" of oil is drained, not ALL of the oil. Also, any thing heavy (carbon chips, metal chips) stays in the pan instead of draining out with the oil.
I could modify this by cutting the threaded part shorter but it's brass and I'm afraid there might not be enough threads to insure it stays tight. In short, I'm going back to a drain plug. The drain plug drains about 3 4 times faster than this valve and I'm sure that all of the oil gets drained.
I purchased the F106N and the ADP106 extension. After reading about the product from their website, I was not sure if I needed the extension. I checked the oil pan and it was recessed so I order the extension. However, given that I had not seen this product before, there was a bit of apprehension when you buy something for the first time without any experience of a product such as the quick valve.
The extension and valve fit great. I read that you don't want to overtighten as you may strip the screw on the quick valve (it's brass) or far worse, the inset thread. That got me worried. So I installed the assembly and I wanted to make sure that the release valve was positioned on top so when it started to get tight, I turned it a bit more to have the valve release on top. On the last bit of turn, I heard a "click or a snap" and my first thought was "crap, I stripped or broke the valve". Well, since I had drained the oil, I couldn't tell and I didn't want to take it off so I continued with the oil change. After I poured the first pint of oil, I check under the RDX to see if there was any leak. Whew, no leak. So I finished the oil change.
5,000 miles later, on the next oil change, I pressed fitted a tube and turned the valve. The oil snaked through the tube and into the drain pan without a mess. It worked great. By far the cleanest oil change ever. I highly recommend this product. Now, if someone can come up with a less messy way to change the oil filter, I am all set.
Hope this helps.
BUT WATCH OUT!! the valve is actually too easy to open.... running over some brush or twigs could easily slap the lever to the open position and it will stay there and not spring back - then you'd better be watching your pressure gage and carrying 4 quarts of spare oil (yeah, right). I got a small steel hose clamp and put it on the boss of the valve just above the lever (upper part of the valve in the photo). With the hose clamp snugged down and tightened up, it is absolutely impossible to open this valve. Yes, it's one more (small) step to loosen the hose clamp in order to drain the oil, but I think it's well worth the safety precaution.
Would have been 5 stars except for this frailty.
When I bought my Expedition, I wasn't able to find one of these valves (old one didn't fit), and I've suffered for too long without one. So I got the idea to look for one today while changing the oil. Well found it, bought it, and I'm writing this review all within ten minutes. No reason to waste time, you oughta just buy one too.
Oh, and I gotta add some comments being an engineer type. These valves use a globe type valve, so they have excellent sealing properties. That's why gas and high quality water lines in your house use them they leak a LOT less. Next, they are already made with a shorter threaded stem to allow ALL the oil (including any grit or shavings) to drain out. Regular solid plugs have about twice the threaded length. Magnetic "getters" used before and after the Fumoto, show no difference. If there is a bit of oil left in the pan (if you ever drop it), it's probably because the vehicle was tilted slightly away from the drain hole when the oil was drained (and so it never fully drained). To be sure to drain everything, you should always jack and block the vehicle to tilt it towards the drain. My drain is in the back of the oil pan, so I drive the truck up a set a ramps on a slightly uphill driveway, and then safety block the rear wheels. Takes five minutes to do, and gives me tons of workspace under the truck. Lastly, I got the one with a nipple end, so that I can add a short piece of 3/8" clear vinyl tubing (hardware store has it). A bit messy to clean the tube, but a lot less mess if wind blows the oil stream around while it drains.

If your oil plug faces down at the very bottom of the pan like mine, I would not recommend this at all. Honest reviews on Fumoto F-106N Engine Oil Drain Valve
It's a good quality valve, and the other reviewer is correct that it takes longer to drain. But oh so much better than handling that hot drain plug, dropping it in the oil pan, getting the drain oil running down your arm well, you know the drill....BUT WATCH OUT!! the valve is actually too easy to open.... running over some brush or twigs could easily slap the lever to the open position and it will stay there and not spring back - then you'd better be watching your pressure gage and carrying 4 quarts of spare oil (yeah, right). These valves are really a great addition to anyone changing oil. I first put one on my Arizona Bronco back in 1984, and had ZERO problems for the 15 years I drove it. And when I sold it, I took the valve off and kept it! In all my on & off-roading, it never leaked, and it was never damaged by rocks, underbrush, or ice (yeah, Arizona gets snow too). When I bought my Expedition, I wasn't able to find one of these valves (old one didn't fit), and I've suffered for too long without one. Best Wix 51372 Spin-On Oil Filter, Pack of 1 Deals
Wix filters are some the best filters available, period. Having worked in the parts business for a long time, I was constantly subjected to many demonstrations from a variety of aftermarket parts manufacturers. However, my favorite has to be the oil-filter comparison. A wix salesman came in one day and bought the same filter in every brand that we carried (5 or 6). Up until that point, I had never even heard of the company. He cut them all open on the counter in fron of us, and pulled the guts out for everyone to see. Not only was it immediately evident that the wix filter element was in a class of its own, the valve assembly and mounting adapter was machined much better than any of the others. Fram was by far the worst (will never buy that orange soup can again, absolute junk). Wix won my business for life. Amazon's sweet price is the icing on the cake!

Not sure how to rate a filter, but here goes. I'be been using Wix filters for about 20 years, and that's a lot of miles. Currently have 160k on my 2002 Mustang and my wife has 104k on her 1998 Volvo, I've done all the oil changes from day one. Never any engine issues. Just got rid of a Jeep with 188k, the whole car fell apart around the engine. Prior to these vehicles, there have been 4 Fords, 2 Jeeps and a Mitsubishi, all without engine issues. Before that, no Wix and no issues either, so I'll hold back the 5th star. But I would definitely recommend the brand.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Wix 51372 Spin-On Oil Filter, Pack of 1
I have a 2013 F-150 Raptor, which Ford recommends using a special Ford Racing filter for. After reading an analysis Ford published about the internals of its filter vs. the competition, it was clear to me this is the better filter. The Ford filter is also very good, but this has more filtering media and a few other nice touches inside. As a bonus, the Amazon price (< $8 at the time of this writing) is very good and much cheaper than the Ford Racing filter. I bought a few and plan to use these exclusively going forward.Saturday, January 24, 2015

This filter wrench works great for my 2007 Ford Fusion. The Fusion has absolutely no space around the filter since it is recessed up a few inches and I used to spend 20 minutes busting my knuckles trying to get channel lock pliers to grip. Regarding the user who said it doesn't have space for allen wrench to get in, well that's because it's not needed to remove the filter cap. The allen wrench merely removes the small drain plug in the cap to let the oil drain out before you pull the whole cap off. You remove the drain plug first and let it empty, then use this wrench to remove the black plastic cap to change the filter cartridge. I tried using standard size filter wrenches but the only ones stocked locally are 15 flutes which won't fit the 2.3l cap. Overall this has been a great time saver.
Like the other reviews say... you still have to use a 6mm Allen key to remove the plug from the plastic housing and let the oil drain out before using this tool to remove the plastic housing and get to the internal oil filter (cartridge style). Great product, highly recommended!!!

Fits the Mazdaspeed 6 oil filter housing cover perfectly. Obviously, you need a 3/8" socket wrench. Be sure to have a 6 mm Allen wrench handy in order to remove the drain plug in the filter housing. Things are a lot less messy if you remove the plug after draining the crankcase and before removing the filter housing cover with this tool and your socket wrench. Of course, you have the K&N name. Honestly, it's not like I can tell if the K&N oil filter filters oil better than another oil filter. But get this one any, if for no other reason than the fact that there's a hex protrusion on the end so you can remove it with a socket wrench when it's time to change.
I had a Fram on there before, and it was fine. But when it came time to take it off, I tried using an oil filter wrench, which just slipped constantly and the filter never budged (I think something had hit the filter at some point as there was a small dent on it, which probably caused the slippage). Then I pulled out the strap wrench, which BROKE before I could get the filter off. That's right, I broke the strap on a strap wrench!
With the K&N's, it's a simple matter of breaking out the socket wrench. So easy. It's worth a couple extra bucks just for that.
Look around though, if the price seems high. I paid about $7.50 for mine at a local bike shop.
As an aside, Mobile 1 filters are the same as K&N except they don't have the weldnut on the bottom. Sometimes you can get the Mobil 1 filters for less money if you don't mind not having the weldnut feature.

With the K&N's, it's a simple matter of breaking out the socket wrench. So easy. It's worth a couple extra bucks just for that.
Look around though, if the price seems high. I paid about $7.50 for mine at a local bike shop.

Love this k&n filter, only one I use on my oil changes now. The nut on the end is a awesome designe, helps out a ton!Best Deals for K&N KN-138 Powersports High Performance Oil Filter
Perfect fit, works well. The socket end sure made it easier and cleaner to change oil. Definite will buy more of these.Honest reviews on K&N KN-138 Powersports High Performance Oil Filter
Very pleased with this filter. The nut on top makes for an easy installation and removal. And the price shipped was several dollars cheaper than what I could buy it locally for. I generally love K&N filters and use them on our cars. Not only are they of exceptionally high quality, they are Made in the USA and Lord knows we can use the work here. I bought this filter for my bike assuming the same great K&N product I've come to know. I was very disappointed that I paid the premium price only to get a filter that while not bad quality, it's not up to K&N standards and it's not made in the US. It's made in Asia and with the quality not being up to snuff I would pass on this part number. As an aside, Mobile 1 filters are the same as K&N except they don't have the weldnut on the bottom. Sometimes you can get the Mobil 1 filters for less money if you don't mind not having the weldnut feature.

As a heavy equipment/truck mechanic filter wrenches such as these are absolutely necessary. They are the only tools to remove large stubborn filters and also install them tightly without damaging them.

Probably the single best oil money can buy. This oil consists of mostly Group V base stock, which is why the price is so high, even among "boutique" oils. But if you are a racer or run a car very hard that is already tough on oil (turbo's, direct injection, etc, are brutal on an oil) this may be for you.
This is not your everyday oil for your daily driver. It is a low viscosity range oil for a high pressure, high performance, high temperature engine.
Keep that in mind. It is not cheap, so there are better, more cost effective synthetic oil options for a street car.
Not to be confused with over the shelf rp at pep boys. This is a different oil.

I am pushing 400 WHP (horsepower at all four wheels, not at the crankshaft horsepower, which is the usual rating), from a turbocharged 2.5 liter engine, on road racing courses, with sustained high RPMs for 20 minutes periods. In one day that is like driving 80 miles while you brutalize your engine for all it's worth. In approximately twenty such days I have never had an oil related failure. This is not your everyday oil for your daily driver. This oil has a very high tbn and is rich in anti-wear ingredients. My cars run smoother and get better mileage with this stuff. Redline is a oil good too, however, customer service sucks there. Rp customer service and tech support is much better. Not to be confused with over the shelf rp at pep boys. This is a different oil.

I called my dealership parts department to order a special tool like this...but they claimed ignorance of this tool...saying their mechanics buy whatever they can find on the market and that Toyota doesn't manufacture a special tool like this one. This tool fit my 2008 Toyota Sienna CE oil filter housing perfectly. The photo shown above is not the same tool, it is actually silver colored and is cast aluminum, and has no hole in the middle. It's internal width measures 64.24 mm by dial caliper. To operate it, I used a 15/16 deep socket attached to a large torque wrench. This creates a snugger fit than the other persons suggestion to use a 24mm socket. The removal nut is a 6 sided hex measuring .919 inches. A 15/16 socket fits this tighter than 24 mm does. Unfortunately for me, the stealership from La Vista, NE, (Perf...), had previously done my oil changes and they seriously overtorqued the oil filter housing the last time they changed it. You are only supposed to torque it on at 25 N m (only about 18 lb ft) to install it, but guess what? My 1/2 socket driver, two foot long torque wrench was set to 87 lb ft and it came loose at some force beyond 87 lb ft because the wrench clicked well before it loosened. (This is the same stealership that tried to tell me my warranty was voided if I didn't rotate my tires.) The plastic $5 Fram oil filter wrench from "stuff-mart" is for 65/67 mm, not 64 mm like the oil filter housing appears to actually be. I think that's why this Assenmacher wrench part number ASTTOY640 has the number 64 in it, because it's meant for a 64mm fluted housing. I tried modding the plastic Fram one as someone else suggested by sawing off the 67 mm portion to no avail...it slips anyway. This Assenmacher filter wrench is awesome for stuck filter housings...it works so much better than the plastic filter wrenches. Don't waste your money on the plastic ones that are the wrong size, buy this one instead. And if you have a Sienna minivan, the oil change was easier than I thought...no plastic splash guard with a zillion plastic screws to remove...just jack up the right front a couple inches and it's really easy to access. And one final tip: don't leave the small o ring on the oil filter housing when you go to insert the special plastic tubing adaptor to drain your filter housing before removal. My new paper element filter came with the drain tool and had instructions in the box which showed the o ring being left on. Don't do it, it'll make a mess because you'll have to hold the draining device on by hand for 5 minutes and it will leak. It's supposed to insert, click and lock into place for hands free draining of the oil from inside the filter housing, but to get it to do this the small o ring has to be out of the way.
Toyota engineers need a good old fashioned spanking for this crappy design in my opinion! After visiting my local Toyota dealership looking for the correct tool only to get the "sorry, we do not offer a tool for sale" responce, I googled it and found this tool. I was impressed when the tool arrived. Very simple and strong design and it fits and works perfectly. It's made of thick and strong aluminum with a molded in 15/16 bolt head for socket and ratchet attachment. This tool transformed a very frustrating and difficult task into a snap. I had worked for over an hour before and broke a strap wrench trying to remove the plastic filter cover without damaging or breaking the cover. With this tool the job was finished in 20 minutes. And to my surprise it has "MADE IN USA" stamped on top of the tool!!!! It made me feel great to use this tool and know It was working perfectly and I had not been robbed buying it and to top it off I was supporting an "AMERICAN WORKER" in the process!!! HOO RAH!!

I am a Technician for a Lexus Dealership, I use this tool constantly through out my day to take of oil filter canisters, it is very strong and well made. I've have broken other filter wrenches similar to this wrench when attempting to break a oil filter loose that is on too tight, in less time then i have had this oil filter wrench. This wrench has held up through everything I put it through. It has no play and fits very snug on the oil filter canisters. I highly recommend this tool.Best Deals for Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench
Based on reviews, I bought this wrench for our two 2009 RAV4 2.5L 4 cyl. SUVs. It fit just fine and it got the over-torqued housing off of one of my RAV4s. Since I ordered it, I noticed Amazon put up a section to check if it fits your car. If in doubt, the package that came with it says: Applicable to: Toyota Models: Avalon (2005-2012), Camry (2007-2012), Highlander (2008-2012), RAV4 (2007-2012), Sienna (2007-2012) & Tundra V8, 5.7L (2010-2012); Scion Models: xD (2008); Lexus Models: ES 350 (2007-2012), GS 350 (2007-2012), GS 450h (2007-2012), IS 250 (2006-2012), IS 350 (2006-2012), LS 460 (2007-2012), LS 600h L (2007-2012) & RX 350 (2007-2012); Toyota Filter #'s: 04152-YZZA1, 04152-YZZA2, 04152-YZZA3, 04152-YZZA4, 04152-YZZA5 & 04152-YZZA6. Spin-off filter #90915-YZZF1 & #90915-YZZF2. Fits 2007-2012 Toyota 3.5L V6, Fits 2008-2012 Toyota V8 5.7L, Fits 2010-2012 Toyota V8 4.6L. Also, this wrench requires a 15/16 socket (my husband used a deep socket) or a 24mm socket or wrench.Honest reviews on Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench
I tried about 4 different parts store filter wrenches that did not work. This one worked like a champ! The only issue is that there is no 3/8 socket hole like in the picture. You have to put a socket over the big hex. Not a big deal, but makes it a bit harder to hold on while on your back.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Assenmacher Specialty Tools TOY 640 Oil Filter Socket Wrench
I just purchased this filter wrench to change the oil in my 2009 Toyota Corolla S. (Toyota really dropped the ball in the design and location of the oil filter on this model car!) The first time I tried to change the oil in my new car I got only frustration using all of my many existing filter wrenches! I have been changing my own oil for 30 years and will continue to do it until I physically can't. I know it's done right when I do it myself. Dealerships rob you for simple services like this and the corner quick oil change shops might just ruin your vehicle due to incompetent or lazy employees or speeding to get the job done these days.Toyota engineers need a good old fashioned spanking for this crappy design in my opinion!
