Buy Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil for Motorcycle - 1 Quart
I have been riding for 38 years. I know bikes and I've tried all the oils. Mobile 1 V-Twin 20w-50 makes my 2008 Softail Custom run smoother, quieter, and 15 degrees cooler than the Harley oil that came in the bike new. I change it every 5000 miles and it looks nearly as clean coming out as it did going in. It doesn't blacken or break down in the 100+ degree Texas heat with me riding it like I stole it! It's worth every penny and then some!!!

Learned about this V-Twin Oil at the '08 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Toured the Mobil display Semi-trailer and got all the scoup and Mobil's sale pitch. I must admit I was somewhat skeptical until I returned home and talked to the Harley dealer. You guessed it... They recommended to only use Harley oil, until I visited a non-Harley motorcycle shop that sells Amsol. .I use Mobil for many other applications on the farm in Nebraska and have found it to be a superior oil. Can't save money on cheap oil. That's my theory. Believe it or not, I think my bike runs cooler on this oil. Call me a dreamer, I'm convinced and impressed.Best Deals for Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil for Motorcycle - 1 Quart

This cast aluminum filter cover wrench fits the cover used on BMW N54 & N55 engines. It's a quality die casting and well finished so should last forever. A much better tool then the cheap plastic or stamped sheet metal wrenches found at discount auto stores. As a bonus, it has a beautiful, bell-like tone if you tap it gently. Tap a plastic wrench and all you get is a dull "thud". With a name like "Assenmacher" it's got to be good!

This tool precisely fits the oil filter housing. I used it on my wife's 2008 BMW X3 3.0L engine. Definately a great bargain!Best Deals for Assenmacher Specialty Tools V 410 Oil Filter Housing Wrench for BMW
Exactly as advertised! Amazing how much easier a job is with the right tool. Changing oil on a 2002 Volvo S40 was made much easier with the proper oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter. Where previous oil change jobs resulted in no filter change, this took a matter of minutes to remove.Honest reviews on Assenmacher Specialty Tools V 410 Oil Filter Housing Wrench for BMW
For the price, you won't find a better tool for the job. This grips the cap in BMW N54 & N52 engines, like My 2007 525 xi, easily. 21mm attachment is needed to use the tool, and that isn't in every 'mechanics toolset' -so you may need to get one of those on Amazon too. Made of metal, so won't break or crack like cheap plastic ones.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Assenmacher Specialty Tools V 410 Oil Filter Housing Wrench for BMW
I used to remove and attach the oil filter housing by hand. This wrench made it so much easier to do the job. Only two issues with the wrench. First, it can get stuck onto the oil filter housing after tightening. After a few whacks, I was able to slide it off. Second, this wrench needs a 21mm socket to use. My socket set only goes up to 20mm and had to get one. Not a big issue, but would have been nice to include in the item description.Friday, March 28, 2014
Review of Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser 32oz
I recently spilled some cooking oil on our new composite deck. After cleaning it twice with dish soap, the stain was untouched. As luck would have it, I ended up out of town for several weeks and was afraid the stain had permanently been set in. After doing some research on the internet, I found a suggestion to use this product.
To my amazement, after spraying Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser on the stain and lightly brushing, the stain was gone. I'm not sure how well it works on other types of stains, but this alone saved me from replacing several expensive composite boards.
I would recommend good ventilation, not from toxicity, but I personally do not like the smell. In its lowest dilution it has a minimal odor. Other products have made me physically ill from the fumes, but this does not.
Make sure you follow the directions in terms of dilutions and what surfaces are safe.
A little goes a long way. Just a tiny squirt and a toothbrush will do wonders on oil, slung-off chain lube, and stubborn brake pad dust. This cleaner seems to have a higher concentration of surfactants than other cleaners. It penetrates grease very easily and after some toothbrush scrubbing, rinses away easily.
I'm so glad Amazon stocks this product as I couldn't find this in the local stores. I know I sound like an infomercial; I'm just very satisfied with this cleaner.

I have used this in its many dilutions all over my house. Stove, oven, bathroom, car, laundry, floor (hard and carpet), both inside and outside. I am interested in biofriendly products. This one, bamboo flooring, and BioBags are my favorites. I like that there is a refillable spray bottle. I used this product to clean my light colored Berber carpeting and it was fantastic. There were mud and dirt footstep stains tracked in from movers. Based on the advice from the company's 800 #, I mixed the Oil Eater with some water (1:3 ratio) and sprayed it directly over the carpet. I let it sit a couple of minutes and used my carpet cleaner with just plain water to rinse it. My carpet looks as good as new.Honest reviews on Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser 32oz

My original factory old dip stick has been served for 13 years. Every time I check the oil level some small plastic pieces would drop. When I got this I compared it with the old one, they are exactly the same length. The only difference is that the oil range of this one is a little little little bit longer than the original one, but just a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitle bit, less than 1mm, so it's not a big deal. I am so amazed at the performance of this oil, especially for the price. I purchased this oil after I was having major problems with my motorcycle shifting properly. The shifting was so bad I thought I had a problem with the clutch. My bike loves this stuff (I ride an FJR1300A). I have never experienced such smooth shifting the entire time I've owned the bike (since 2009). Great oil at a great price (I paid just under $7 per quart)!Note: I was trying to be thrify and was previously using Shell Rotella oil...but as you can see it didn't work out.

Discount Liqui Moly (2011) Top Tec 4200 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil - 5 Liter
Have been using this oil for the last 50,000 or so miles in my 2012 Golf TDI. Great stuff. 5 liter bottle is perfect; usually have about 1/2 liter left over. This oil is fully VW 507 compliant for low ash so it's safe to use in diesel vehicles with a DPF system at a significantly lower cost than Castrol SLX Gold or Mobil 1 ESP. or I usually get it local from my TDI Mechanic (Hevster1 over at M&M Autocycle in NJ) but glad to know that it's available on Amazon as well. Most folks in the USA haven't heard of LiquiMoly (based in Germany), but they've been around for a long time and make a quality product.

Bought this for my recently purchased '06 Street Bob, wanting to add new fluids to the engine, primary, & trans. Not sure what was in the trans previously (def a synthetic, Syn3 or similar), but my bike shifted noticeably smoother after putting the Redline, particularly downshifting into 1st. It used to 'clunk' more into 1st and it was so much smoother the first ride after, I kept double-checking to make sure I was actually in 1st and not 2nd. Ridden ~150 mi since the change. All positive still. Pink in color, would be easy to identify a leak. On board w/ Redline from here on out.Saturday, March 22, 2014

Brad Penn Penn Grade 1 10W30 Partial Synthetic Racing Oil Review
I was doing a lot of Internet research to find the best oil for my 40 year old, never been rebuilt, stock engine.
Prior to using this oil, my motor developed a ticking. Possibly due to a weak flat tappet lifter. Anyway, I visited the brad penn site and also read the helpful customer review here on Amazon and told myself if this stuff helps racing engines survive their harsh lives, this stuff should work for my stock engine.
And it has. The noticeable ticking has dissipated. Now I'm not saying this stuff will cure your motor from its ailments but if you want a better oil that will help to maintain and protect a fairly healthy engine then this is the right stuff. It also doesn't burn as quick or burn at all like other store bought motor oils.........Race engines are not! We have been running Brad Penn Grade 1 10w-30 in our flat tappet race engines for many years with no additives and it performs very well! Highly recommended

Review of Royal Purple 51530 API-Licensed SAE 5W-30 High Performance
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $47.24
Sale Price: $42.52
Today's Bonus: 10% Off

People need to understand about motor oil to make the decision on what is right for them including if Royal Purple is what they should use or not. Forget the marketing, and anything else that suggests this or any oil will do anything "spectacular". What it can do is what a good motor oil can do, lubricate and help protect an engine from wear (when combined with a good filter). The synthetic oils benefits occur most when an engine is subjected to the extremes, high RPM, high stress, high/low temp situations where it will remain effective better than a conventional oil. Synthetic oils may also maintain their original properties a while longer than conventional oils. That is it however. That is very important stuff, what motor oil is for. That is good enough, all that should be expected. But it is still motor oil. Any claims of this or any other oil making your car go faster or get better MPG or anything like that should not be believed. That is not the job of motor oil.
The definition of "synthetic oil" in this Country is vague and most oils labeled "fully synthetic" are not made from 100% synthetic base stocks. To find out more about how this works look up Mobil Vs Castrol, this was the lawsuit in this country that allowed oils that originated from dino oil to legally be called "fully synthetic". This does not mean they are bad oils, just that the use of the work synthetic can be misleading.
One would need to look to see what base stocks are used to see just how fully synthetic an oil truly is. The base stocks in motor oil are Group I,II,III,IV and V base stocks. Group I-III (1-3) are all conventional mineral oils that have come from the ground. Dino oil. Only Group IV and V use synthetic base stocks (P.A.O. for group IV) and (Esters for group V).
95% of oils labeled "fully synthetic" actually begin with group III base stocks which are then highly processed in to the final product.
This does not mean that an oil is bad because it is not a true "fully synthetic" oil using 100% group IV or V base stocks or better just because it does use them, but this is something I think is misleading and not understood by most. Though being a true group IV oil using those P.A.O. base stocks is considered better by many. It is an indication of a high quality oil, and certainly meets the definition of a true fully synthetic oil, just not the only consideration.
There is much more to an oil than just the base stocks used. The formulations are very complex including many additives with detergent and anti-wear properties along with several others. Many factors go in to making a top quality motor oil.
I would not suggest one think they can go incredibly long times between oil changes just because they are using a high quality oil or because a certain mileage figure is on the label. When used with a good filter one may be able to go longer between changes with a good oil, but to protect your engine better you also need to keep clean and fresh enough oil of any type in it. This oil is no exception. Your oil may be capable of outlasting your filter. Some find that changing filters more often than their oil helps extend change intervals. Also there is more to consider when determining oil change intervals than just mileage. Engine type (does it have a turbo for example), environmental extremes etc. also need to be considered. And time is a consideration too because while the oil itself may not be "worn out" or the additive package in it may still be effective (particularly in Extended Performance versions which contain larger amounts) still there are contaminants that oil filters do not remove which are a result of the combustion process, over time these build up and can only be removed by changing your oil. This is also why if you use a vehicle seasonally such as storing your motorcycle over the winter it is best to change the oil when you put it away rather than at the start of the season.
If you look on the bottles of oils with claims they can go for long periods of time between oil changes (15K plus) you will find some small print saying things such as "Do not alter oil change intervals from manufacturer requirements on vehicles under warranty (as this will likely VOID your warranty not keeping the maintenance schedule)" and "25,000 miles OR ONE YEAR" as well as many other various conditional statements about the vehicle operating conditions. What may be OK under ideal and perfect conditions is different from most all real situations.
Some people engage in oil testing, sending their oil to labs to find out condition of the oil. For me this seems perhaps reasonable if one it attempting to find out what length change interval they are able to obtain with a certain oil/filter combination. However as something done on a regular basis for the average consumer this costs as much as an oil change so I would just change the oil instead of finding out the condition the old oil is in.
As to Royal Purple being a good synthetic oil? I would say yes it is. Also very expensive particularly with this deal. If it is either the best or worth the price is the larger questions to consider. Is it worth it at this price? I would say NO it was recently on sale for 6.99/quart, at that time or the next time it goes on sale that is the prime time to purchase. Personally I prefer other brands, though my decisions are changing along with the changing of formulations of the oils I use. One should do research in to various synthetic motor oils and consider those as well and decide which one to use. Do not go by marketing claims. There are independent tests and discussions, there is even one with over 1000 posts on this subject on Amazon right now. Many other outside oil forums as well. One can also have their oil tested to compare results vs other brands used at various intervals in their own vehicle if one wants to do that sort of personal research which will yield at least some results. Also formulations are constantly changing so what ingredients used in any particular oil one year may not be what the formulation is today or will be tomorrow. If you research oil and decide that it is worth paying a bit more for a true group IV oil, then that is a reasonable decision to pay a bit more for that oil. I believe this RP is among Group IV oils, meaning it uses 100% synthetic base stocks. But contact Royal Purple to confirm this because their formulations change like all others. Make sure you know what you are buying.
I would also encourage purchasing any oil when it is on a big sale or has a rebate etc.. I believe most synthetics are overpriced and should be purchased only when on sale as this does happen on a regular basis. Check Amazon and other auto supply stores. There are constantly sales on synthetic oils and/or rebates making the cost per quart 6.00 or less on a regular basis, this is the time to purchase your oil. Often there are packages with filters which can be good deals as long as the filter is the one you would like to use also. This nor any other oil will perform well without also using a high quality filter, period. Make sure you are also using a high quality filter. The two need to both be of good quality for best performance and protection.
I give this a 4 star rating due to price. It has been on sale for less recently and that is the time to purchase expensive oils. Plan ahead and buy your oil when on a really good sale. You can save about 50% or at least close to it often times especially when offered with packages including an oil filter (as long as it is a good filter). The star rating reflects the value of this deal at this price.
In the end get a high quality oil but remember no oil is going to be providing its full benefits if it is no longer effective due to excessive use or age. Keep your maintenance schedules up to get the best performance and longest life out of your vehicle.
Royal Purple IS one in the group of top quality motor oils, just where it ranks is much more difficult to determine. Disregard outrageous claims made by any manufacturer or person and do your own research in to various synthetic oils to make a decision on which to use. There are several very good quality brands. Also learn about API, ILSAC and Dexos1 specifications mean. This Royal Purple DOES meet the most current API specification (SF) the ILSAC GF-5 and GM's new Dexos1 requirements. It should be compared against other synthetics that also meet those same specifications. THOSE ARE IMPORTANT RATINGS. These are your best street car motor oils. So YES this is a good oil, NO it will not do anything other high quality synthetic oils in the same class can do, and No this is not the best price I have seen for this oil.
Instead of comparing claims on a bottle (other than those API, ILSAC and perhaps Dexos1 ratings) do some outside research. Ignore outrageous claims and make an informed decision based upon knowledge of the oil and filters you purchase and what an appropriate price to purchase them at is.
EDIT: Note that at the time of the review Royal Purple was using PAO base stocks. I have information that it is not not a 100% PAO oil. This has been a pattern among oils that were once 100% PAO group IV oils so you can not count on any brand maintaining their formulations or advising or a new formulation or change. There are some advantages to a PAO oil such as no need for V.I. additives and if you believe in the value of P.A.O. base stock oils that could justify a slightly higher purchase price. My belief in this change is a response to this question by a representative or Royal Purple. This does not mean it is no longer a good oil to buy just that the formulation may no longer use P.A.O. base stocks. One should know what they are paying for particularly if they are purchasing a product at a premium price especially if that product no longer uses the ingredients one things it does.
Like I said, I'm not an automotive expert, but from what it seems to me, the Royal Purple has made a difference.
There aren't that many companies out there that A. produce a fantastic product, B. advertise without bogus claims, and most importantly C. stand by their product 100%. If anything, this company got my respect and loyalty due to their immediate response and their handling of my concerns. Now again, let me stress, my oil analysis numbers were fantastic and were exactly what was expected of a newer car...but just because I had concerns the folks at RP asked me to send them over more samples so they can run an analysis free of charge.
I hope that helps most of you that are still on the fence about trying this product even though it has a fantastic quality reputation. Hopefully this will convince you that the team also has great relations with their customers.

I've started using synthetic oil in all of my vehicles and while searching for a deal I saw this great buy !!! And FREE SHIPPING!!!Best Deals for Royal Purple 51530 API-Licensed SAE 5W-30 High Performance
I just started using Royal Purple in my Mini Cooper S with John Cooper Works (basically, the supercharged, supercharged Mini). I actually noticed a difference in torque off the line and squeeled the tires HARD in 2nd gear. Although I don't have all the equipment to register the difference in fuel conservation, the guages inside my Mini started registering higher, expected mileage ranges. I previously would see that mileage range at about 480 miles on a full tank of gas (Hwy), but after Royal Purple, I saw the range jump up to 505 at one time.Like I said, I'm not an automotive expert, but from what it seems to me, the Royal Purple has made a difference.

A lot of reviews here talk about the product itself, and I think they have hammered the point that RP is one of the best synthetics that you can buy, up there with oils like Redline. I purchased my '10 RX8 in May 2010 with 16 miles on the clock and have been babying her ever since. After a few goes at conventional oil to break in the engine, I switched over to the RP after some great suggestions by the rx8 community. In doing so I took care to be very meticulous about my oil changes, performing them every 3000 miles, and saving samples to send to Blackstone labs just to make sure that the oil was doing a good job and that my engine was healthy. I ran the RP 5w30 in the winter, and then ran their 10w40 in the summer and had absolutely no problems. Once I changed out my first interval of the 10w40, I sent the samples over to BSL (~$40 total to sample both) to check the results. Although the numbers were above average, the Viscosity numbers were a tad low .... not alarmingly low, but I expected them to be stable considering that this is a premium oil. The guys over at BSL assured me that this was completely normal, and because my car only has 10k miles on it now, it could just be residuals from breakin/conventional oil use/some 5w30 that stayed in the sump when i put the 10w40. In any case, I sent my reports over to the folks at RP just to have them take a look-see. Within a few hours I got back a reply from the RP team pretty much confirming what the guys over at BSL said. Along with that, they stated that they wanted to continue monitoring my use just to be 100% sure that their assumptions are correct. They sent me free sample kits and told me to send them some samples when I do an oil change again.

I put this synthetic oil in my Generac generator, and the unit runs longer without the need to refill the oil, than any other oil I've used. And for my needs, that's perfect.Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Recently did a complete overhaul of my beater Explorer Sport. Shocks, brakes, oil change, fuel filter, air filter, greased all fittings, flushed and replaced power steering fluid and brake fluid. Needless to say the SUV runs great for having over 260k+ miles on it! My front differential has a minor leak and every few months I top it off with this oil. Does the trick for a great price!

What can i say..it works. Might want to consider getting some sort of special funnel to pour it into the rear diff.Best Deals for Lucas Oil 10043 SAE 80W-90 Heavy Duty Gear Oil - 1 Quart
I like it and it worked great but when I put my Diff cover back on I had a leak so I had to fix that which means they put in what ever it is that they put in, I didn't get to put many miles on it but for what I did it was ok, I used it in my "99 Chevy S-10 4X4 LS EXT. Cab Slightly lifted 235-75R15 tires/wheel. mainly highway miles about 60 a day going to and from work carry the dirt bike, and stood up to getting buried in the snow and having to rock myself out for about 15+ mins. so i'd stand behind them no fried diff gears an they transmission still works perfectly fine 5spd. and held up fine when I found that hidden minimum maintenance road sometimes there just too tempting! all you country folks know what I mean :)Honest reviews on Lucas Oil 10043 SAE 80W-90 Heavy Duty Gear Oil - 1 Quart
It seems silly to rate oil. Its the right weight and size, and my machine is still working so I am happy.
