I have a backpack style leaf blower, a trimmer and now a chain saw (Sandy warranted it). I have been using the STIHL oil in all my tools for the past five years. They always start on the second pull (when cold) and run well. I had bought some 2 stroke oil at a local store to save money, but sanity prevailed.

I highly recommend this oil for any 2-stroke engine you might have.

These filters have a great review at Auto sites. I like the fact that it still uses my filter cap wrench, and I don't have to drive to the dealer for OEM filters.

I wanted to post an update here. I paid $8.00 for these just a month ago, and now they are over $14.00. Keep an eye on the price. While they are great filters, I won't be using them at almost double the dealers price. I will go back to the OEM filters until these go back down.

The price for oil filters fluctuates like mad. If you're like me, you use K&N's 1010 Performance filter or this. I only buy either under a tenner. If this isn't under a tenner, be sure to check the K&N 1010!

When I decided on using Mobil 1 oil in my new car, I decided to use the same brand filter. I do not have any way to tell if this filter is any better or worse than the other major brands out there but I trust the name and the numerous positive reviews on Mobil 1's line of products around the internet.

As seen by the glossy finish, the outside of this filter could be slippery if your hands are oily or sweaty. Though I have never had any problem in getting a good hand grip on the filter, it is also constructed to be able to accept an oil filter wrench cap.

This filter is priceless for the simple addition of the attached hex nut removal bolt. Why ALL manufactures don't add this is beyond me. I used to fight and struggle with silly oil wrench removal tools that don't fit into tight spaces. Now, it's SO easy to get the damn filter off! I purchase this oil filter for infiniti M45 and infiniti G35 and have used them on the civic Si, Rx-8, and nissan 95 240sx with a sr20det s14 VTC type. I keep them around because they work on a plethora of engines: honda K20/24 & J30 V6, Rx-8's rotary, Nissan S14 SR20det, VQ35/37/40, VK45, VR38DETT, mitsubishi 4b11 (evo X) and 4g63(evo 8/9/ eclipse) and many more.

The nut is a life saver in tight spaces, and especially on the new 2006+ civics Si which have a very tight and confined installation space. As for filtering i've taken an old one apart and noted the filter media is very high quality i'd say as good or maybe better than most oem filters.

I recommend it, it's a good filter just to keep around/ have since it works on just about anything my friends have.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX xoupe and have used this oil filter for over 140,000 miles. On top of K&N's reputation and performance having the 1-inch nut on the top make it much easier to remove when changing the oil. Excellent product. The reason I am only giving this 4-stars and not the 5 is because this last one that I bought said that it was made in Korea. Every single one that I have purchased before was made in the USA. I hope that it was only a small batch. The K&N oil filter I use for my Mustang GT (2009) still says that it is made in the USA.

These are very handy and much less mess than the clay (kitty litter). I use them to soak up oil, water and antifreeze.

I purchased this product as opposed to the $24 assenmacher filter wrench because I'm poor and owning a 99 s80 only makes me poorer. I had no problem getting the filter off with this tool. It doesn't seem flimsy or anything. Perhaps the people who claim it "strips" don't understand that they shouldn't go all Bignuts on a filter cap and torque it down stronger than excalibur? Anyway, this thing worked just fine for me and allowed me to save $20 to put towards the next thing that breaks on this volvo.

This is a very sturdy container with an excellent design. I changed my own oil for the first time using this, and made virtually no mess at all. The handle makes it easy to carry and it does not appear to leak. As another reviewer mentioned, the circle in the side of the container is actually a funnel, which detatches and screws into the hole in the side of the container. I do not see this as a flaw in the product. From a functional standpoint, It really makes no difference since the funnel attaches in seconds and has a large enough diameter so that it can easily catch all of the draining oil. It's true that the funnel needs to be cleaned, however it's not much of a hassle at all, and any oil container should be cleaned periodically. Overall, this is a considerable improvement over existing designs that have large lids on the side, which tend to be prone to leaks.

I read the reviews and was hoping that I'd finally found a storage container that wouldn't leak. I made it through one oil change with no problems. Yesterday I left my truck to drain into the container for the second change while I went inside for lunch. Came back out and there was oil all over my garage floor coming from the top cap of the container. I tried to tighten the cap to stop the leaking with no luck. I'm going to try the 15 Quart Oil Drain Pan/Recycling Container that claims to have a patented leak proof design from oilfiltersonline.com to see if I have better luck.

Ordered this on-line and paid shipping as I can no longer find it in stores. My old one had the gasket go bad after many years of service. New design is even an improvement since there is no longer an opening at the bottom. Its small profile lets me side it under my BMW Z3 without jacking it up until the tailpipe drags. Made of tough Polypropylene. Ones sold in auto parts stores are useless junk by comparison.

The funnel in this unit is worth the price of the who drain container unit.

I don't use the container, anymore. I use a used one gallon used squat one gallon orange container. It fits under the emgine area with plenty of room to spare, when the car is on ramps. It captures most all the oil from the filter change, and the filter can be allowed to drain into the bottle, after you slide the assembly from under the car. Walmart, unlike most auto parts stores, keeps the container. I left the black container with them, when it became full. But I kept the funnnel.

After the fill the Go-Jo bottle, I transfer the oile to another bottle that I can discard. It screws onto the top of most antifreeze or cheap windshield washer bottles. You don't even need the drain container.

I use the large funnel often for transferring all sorts of liquids into plastic bottles without spilling the liquid.

This is one super funnel.

I ordered 2 of these and when they arrived they were as I expected with the exception that one of the tanks was missing the yellow screw cap. I contacted the seller and left voicemails but have never heard back from them on the missing piece. Product will work fine and a telecoping catch funnel would help get it closer to oil drain hole on the trucks.

Would have ranked it higher but non response from seller is a major issue for me.

I have used these filters for a very long time. I buy them by the case. I love the rough rubberized coating on the end of the filter. Now for use on the filter solvents where you pour solvent through them into a barrel and then out the end of it. These work really good but only on small CALs It does not hurt to use slow flow either

There is no one in the professional auto world that trusts Fram!

Fram has a horrific recent history of manufacturing oil filters that fail. Their filters leak and do a poor job at filtering impurities. There are websites devoted to discussing oil and oil filters and Fram products are nearly universally criticized and avoided. There are also videos online that investigate Fram oil filters and they are nearly all universally negative.

Purolator, Wix (NAPA), Mann, Mahle, are some quality filters. Fram are the worst filters and you are risking harming your car.

Search the internet for yourself: Fram is the only oil filter company that has no way to contact them! No phone number or no email address. The other brands I mentioned have a way to reach them. Fram doesn't because doing so the phone line would be jammed with complaints.

Since I got my first car, Fram has always been the oil filter brand I would reach for. The PH8A was the standard ford oil filter for years, And I went through plenty of them. Now my new vehicle has the ph3600 size. Although it is smaller, it is still the same great features as the PH8a. Always reliable and never a leak or ill fit. very consistent. It was a nice improvement whe they added the grip end to these as well, very hand when you have oil on your hand. .

Not sure why Harley can't put this nut on their filters, or maybe an inward 1/2" driver hole. Anyway, it makes yanking this thing off much easier because the strap wrench or the Harley-style filter wrench doesn't let you get your hand in there to manage the filter and all the oil that pours out after it comes loose. This helps me ensure a clean oil change... as clean as it can be. Not sure why they chose 17mm for the bolt size, but whatever. What I wasn't excited about was that, at least for me, the black paint seemed to not be "as black" as the Harley filter, or it may have faded or been affected negatively by road salt or something. It wasn't gray or anything, it just wasn't as black as the Harley filter I replaced it with (because I couldn't wait for shipping from Amazon.com). Not a big deal... it's still black. Just not... as black.

Why pay the dealer's exorbitant rate when this little filter twists off easily with a small adjustable wrench, found in nearly every household?

Remember: Harley-Davidson found that the standard 5 micron filter was too restrictive on the XR1200 engine because the XR has twice the oil pressure of the regular XL Sportster. Don't buy a regular Sportster filter for your XR1200 or XR1200X!

Anyone who has fought with the oil filter wrench on a Harley filter knows that the little nut on top of this filter makes it so much easier.
