I used this oil and the matching royal purple filter for the first two oil changes on my brand new 2012 Ford Fusion Sport AWD. I shortened the first two intervals to about 4,000 miles to get the initial break in materials out of the engine and then had each oil sample analyzed by Blackstone Laboratories. The Results were perfect! The oil had tons of life left in it and could have definitely met\surpassed the factory 10,000 mile recommendation while providing my engine with maximum protection.

While I understand that there are a ton of folks on both sides of the argument on whether this oil is worth the money or not, I am one of those that will say that I am satisfied with this product. Like many people out there, I am not a chemist or oil engineer, but I have done plenty of research and feel as educated as I can get. I feel comfortable using this product. And I feel even better about investing in it since I found it cheaper by the case right here on Amazon. At the discounted price and free shipping (plus discounted oil filter), a quart of RP oil breaks down to about $7.40. That makes it a bit easier on the wallet.

Too many ignorants and wannabe "oil experts" are on the internet bashing this product. I'd say research it yourself and make your own decision to either use this product or not. I've done mine, and I have no complaints thus far.

Can't go wrong with this stuff! It's worth the money! The engine does feel lighter somehow and I have super quick startups in the morning. This my second car running on this stuff the last one had almost 200,000 miles no it when I sold it I started using RP on that one at about 60K and it ran strng at 198K.

The loss of a cam shaft in my 1990 Jeep engine forced me to realize that the government regulators have forced the oil manufactures to remove zinc from their lubricating oils. "Yeah BIG Government", NOT!

When searching for an oil or additive that will protect my older engines properly, there are a few racing oil options and this additive to choose from. So far, my Jeep and small engines on the yard care equipment have been running well with this added to the newer zinc free oils.

I'm still trying to find out if there are any incompatibility problems between the zinc compound in this product and the calcium compound used in the oils forced on us by bureaucrats...

Learn by my mistakeS. Yes, multiple. I bought 3 different oil filter wrenches for my Tundra. All made me frustrated by slipping around the plastic filter housing. Had to use masking tape to tighten the gaps, rubber tape, and a few bad words.

This filter is solid, won't flex when turning, and grips the tabs on filter with sturdy notches. Bad enough I need to remove and replace a skid plate everytime I change my oil too.

This will make changing my oil much easier. It is a perfect fit on the flats of the filter housing, but the teeth also grab the wings nicely.

I got Toyota Camry 1997 V6 Engine. I'm the first time buyer of the wrench of my filter. I did find that it did not fit to my vehicle eventhough the title says it is for V6 engine.

I bought this to make oil changes on my 2007 Lexus RX350. The inside top of this tool engages the flats on the oil filter housing. The slots on the bottom of this tool engage the housing's wings. Together, even the tightest housing is going to yield to whatever force you apply. I used a 3/8" square drive. The distance across the hex flats measured 1.052" so a 27mm or 1-1/16" socket could be used instead. My filter housing got jammed to the inside of this tool when I unscrewed it from the engine; a couple of light taps knocked it free. That's a tolerance issue either with this tool or the filter housing or both, I'm not sure. It's not a big deal and this tool certainly works, but handling the housing is a messy enough job as it is, so 4 stars.

After I had the engine rebuilt in my 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, along with a larger turbo and a few other mods, I decided to switch over to Motul. I have been using Motul Oil in the trans and diffs with great results, but not the engine. I always thought it was too expensive, but this is a great deal and not much more than any other good synthetic oil. This is even a lot cheaper than the garbage I used before for 74k miles, and I think mostly the reason I needed my engine rebuilt. Hint, it starts with AMS and ends with OIL. The shop that did all the work on my car use and sell Motul, and even the Subaru WRC team uses it. I have never heard anything bad about this stuff and at this price it's hard to beat.

Had a mechanic friend from Europe talk to me about this product. Actually had me feel and smell this product versus the other big synthetic oils widely available in the US. This stuff is noticeably slipperier and cleaner smelling. Most of the domestic brands have almost a burnt smell. The hardcore oil guys seem to think this stuff compares extremely well to most other stuff out there. What iced it for me was that go-kart racers were coming to him for this oil as it was allowing their engines to run cooler and at higher RPM. Not a ton, but enough to make a difference. This stuff is not cheap, but Amazon is better than most on price.

After reading reviews of this product that say how well its constructed and its advanced filtering I decided I'd give it a try. Upon receiving my first filter I noticed that the element inside was completely loose. I contacted RP who said this was not the way the product was supposed to be and not to use it. I decided to give it another shot and ordered a replacement from Amazon. Upon receiving the second filter I gave it a little shake. Loose Again!!!!!, not as bad as the first time but still not the way its supposed to be. I don't know if this is just a bad batch or what but after this experience I'd be very leery to put one of these on my truck and can tell you I'll never use one of these filters!!!! I mean I'd be worried if I got another if it wasn't loose when I received it that something would come apart inside while on the truck.

The car this is used in is a Mercedes CLK430, which factory dictates I need a 0w40. In the summer, it's hot and don't need the 0w weight oil, so I'm only concerned with the 40w. Immediately after changing the oil over to this, the car ran smoother and cooler. It so smooth at times I had to look at the tech to make sure it was running. I've used AMSOIL, Royal Purple, Mobil1 HM 10w40, Shell 5w40 synthetic, and nothing ran as well as Redline.

I've been running Redline synthetic oil in my 5.0 track toy for years now, and despite seeing coolant temps as high as 240 on one occasion and oil temps regulalry as high as 275, my Blackstone labs oil analyses keep coming back with wear on the low end of the normal range. I've started using this oil just recently before I used to use Castrol GTX 5w30 but my Dodge Intrepid 01 is over 236+ thousand miles over. My car is burning oil , my mechanic recommended me to use a higher grade oil (10W30) for an older engines also to use Lucas oil stabilizer when I do oil changes to reduces the oil from being burned and to make my engine last longer. Yes, I give it 5 stars because it works as advertised but YOU DON'T NEED IT. I have a 1965 pontiac GTO 389 4 spd. and a 1977 Ford F-250 2wd with a modified 460 auto. After hearing all of the hype about flat tappet cam failure with SM grade oil I thought I would give zzdp a try. Then I got curious and called a petroleum engineer at Shell. I was informed Rroltella-T has all the ZZDP any car engine needs, that is to say the level is equal to SJ grade oil. It is a diesel oil and the viscosity is 15w-40 yet that's OK for an older vehicle with a high performance flat tappet cam. Quaker State defy has 75% of the ZZDP of Shell's and is a 10w-30 synthetic blend its fine for any engine built after 1995. I also checked with a fleet technician at my employer (Century Link) and was told Motorcraft diesel oil has a disclaimer on the label not to use on vehicles with catalytic converters due to its high ZZDP content. The fleet runs all the diesel engines with that oil and Cummins diesels still use flat tappet cams. The company maintains the fleet meticulously so much so we had Pinto's and Cavaliers go for 20 years and up to 225,000 miles. I am very particular of my 2 classics often getting complemented on their appearance and performance so I would never jeopardize their maintenance. As we have heard so many times before skip the additives and do it right.

The Delo 400 LE 5w40 is a very good oil. I am using it in a 2013 Freightliner Columbia with a pre-egr Detroit Series 60 12.7 engine. I take oil samples at 10,000 miles, which look very good, and change the oil at 30,000 miles, which is twice the OEM recommended drain interval of 15,000 miles. Chevron makes very good products, and this one is in their top tier of offerings. Highly recommend it for those considering synthetics in their diesels.

This is a nice size dispenser. The only problem is the fill hole is to large and to close to the pour spout. If you are not super careful you end up with alot of oil on top of your engine. Pour spot is to short and to stiff also. I bought both the 6 and the 8 guart and both have the same problem.
